It does, for me. And it even makes sense for a person with strong hobbies and a normal social life. I dont need a girlfriend when I have good friends, a family, my pets. A gf implies too manyresponsabilities and commitment for me, and I have been into that for half of my life.
On the other hand, I have great memories from all of my couples. If you are with someone suitable for you (shared interestests) you can have memorable times that no friend or family member can replace. I also have great memories with friends and family that couldnt be achieved by any of my gf. So, IMO, if you can get all of it (friends, family and GF/BF), that can make a good sense in your life. As for now, I can and I want to survive without a couple. I like the feeling of totally freedom after breaking up with someone.
