You've just died, you can pick your after life but the next person picks your future.

For example my afterlife could be that I am born into a very loving family where I attend a prestigious high school

The next person decides whether I become a doctor, a drop out, or a famous author.

Of course you can go into alot of detail about what happens in the person's future.
