hi! i know i might have to ctb soon and in the area i'll be in the best method would probably be to jump? it all depends on where i am, in my hometown i have access to a 18 story building (hypothetically there is a 30 story one but i'm not sure about the technicalities so) and in the city where i live most of the time there's no access to heights but one of the strangulation methods (i have researched night-night and tourniquet a while ago) is possible because there would definitely be no interruption unless my survival instinct kicks in.

so the thing i'd like to ask is how lethal jumping from 18 story building actually is. i've read that there's a few percent chance of survival but doesn't it just mean that you'll die in the ambulance car or the hospital, instead of right away? or are there cases of actual survival that i might not know of?

(i'm new here & english is not my first language , pls excuse the mistakes or if the question itself is dumb, it's just that my worst fear is to survive and be disabled for the rest of my life lol)

upd : i unlocked the message function so if you have something to say you can now i guess??

Since we cannot message you, or you us, until you unlock more privileges, you may want to do more research in the resources section, as it has examples of methods, including a section of those NOT shown to be cosistently lethal.
I hope you find a path to peace.

Once you are "active" enough (arbitrary threshold, basically once you've sent enough comments and have an old enough account, you can dm people.

After you reach 5 messsges posted, you should be able to click on someone else's profile picture and see [Start Chat] and [Start Conversation]. Right now you can only [Follow][Ignore]. After 5 posts, check, and if not, logout and come back in, to reset your new rank (Member). There is also a time component, for me it was about 12 hours.

I would advise against jumping. People have survived great falls, even from planes and the rare chance you survive - you'd spend every single day in misery. Either from lifelong injuries, paralysed, 'locked in syndrome, amputated limbs - there are so many possibilities it's just not worth the risk trust me.

I think any method is painful, you just got to do your own research on the lethality of each method ans weigh out the risks of survival. I wish I had done that, now I'm suffering the consequences.

wait what?! who survived from falling out a plane that seems impossible
Juliane Koepcke famously survived falling thousands of meters after the plane she was riding in was struck by lightning. It proves that it's possible, but this case is famous specifically because it's extremely unlikely.

There's also this.

Research can indeed prevent risk of sub-lethal harm. I wouldn't say that any method is painful, because if the brain is disabled before it can recognise the pain (not just with Oceangate implosions and cave blasting explosions), then there isn't pain to be felt by the time the pain signal should have otherwise been received. Tho yes, sub-lethal harm can definitely be painful.

I just checked (coz idk if 'consequences' meant existence or injuries), and sorry about the injuries, hopefully there is at least some recovery.

18 stories over a hard surface with nothing to break your fall, falling headfirst has an incredibly high chance of killing you near instantly. But do your research and plan intelligently. Be safe
