Doesn't matter if it's a venting reply, an apology, or anything else. Anything that goes through your mind and you can't find the courage to tell to that person. I think it can be therapeutic for us.
I'll start:
I'm sorry. I know I've been shitty, but I was so desperate to talk with you that I didn't truly acknowledge that I was hurting you every time I did that. It was years ago, and I've changed, and I'm sorry for doing that to you. You didn't deserve it, and I wish every day of my life that I could take it back. But I just can't do that, you know? I'm left with this constant regret, and it's been eating me alive ever since. But I'm better, and I'm not that person anymore. Not that you even care, or that it helps you in any way. The deed is done.
