My head wants to try again. My heart wants to go.
I have tried to get over my depression for many years and many different types of anti depressants. I really do feel like I have treatment resistant depression. Apparently episodes of depression usually last 6-8 months. But I have been suicidally depressed for roughly three years now. I can't do CBT , I don't feel as though I'm strong enough emotionally to face that. Never mind it would probably kill me off trying. I want to forget my childhood, not relive it.
I feel as though all that's left to try is Ketamine therapy. It's not available on the NHS as NICE has rejected it based on it's not financially viable, so I would have to pay privately. It's going to cost similar to buying N.
I don't have much money, I want to give it a go but if it doesn't work I'm truly and utter screwed. I don't think I will be in a position to purchase N in a years time. Life :(

CBT is not about reliving your childhood, that's psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysts.
CBT is about challenging your thoughts about yourself, the world and the future with an empirical emphasis. Check out cognitive restructuring.
I don't know where you live but if the state covers it I would definitely try.
I've read that ketamine is promising but is indeed very expensive. I think they're using esketamine now and where I live the private health insurance companies are starting to cover it.
I've heard good things about TMS as well, and also ECT.
I'm no doctor though, just a psychology aficionado.
Have you tried medications?
Sorry you're going through this difficult time
EDIT: Sorry I just read you've tried many antidepressants, my bad

Ketamine is good but if I was you, I'd save up and do an ayahuasca retreat. You can be a brand new person after 4-5 sessions. That's where true long lasting healing is. Depending on where you are, there's lots of places in the states that do it. Just do proper research and go to a solid place. Always another option. Alternatively, kambo which is a frog medicine. That's helps ALOT with depression. Your mental health is your gut health. Clean your gut out and head gets better. Both aya and kambo do a lot of cleansing and renewing

I hear ayahuasca is really good and I also hear that iboga ceremonies are real helpful. I haven't done much research into either but it's something that I would definitely look into maybe in the future.

My pshyc nurse described it as finding out what triggers you and to keep triggering you till you are unphased
ayahuasca is not legal in the U.K.

That's a technique named Exposition and Response Prevention. It's used for OCD mainly and it has helped me a lot. I know they use it for PTSD too but don't know how successfully.
What I was describing is the technique they use for depression

< I DON'T > READ THE WARNING LABELS, BABY: please be super-careful when doing these retreats: they are intended to assist you in awakening spiritually (and that. is fantastic) but some of the facilitators are into it for the money / fresh in recovery overcoming addiction etc
- please check with all attendees that have been through the process for accurate evaluation!
Ibogaine has set a friend free from oxy addiction
and another has turned into a (like parkinsons) shaking shadow of his former self...
whatever gets you to wherever it is you meant to be going i guess (right now i'm on a healthy mix of whatever gets me through the day:
... yes yes i know it's rich coming from me with my daily russian roulette game of whatever streetdrug will get me through the day with minimal withdrawals

Hey thank you for this! I never really considered the negative side of doing one of these retreats so I'll definitely look into it with a more skeptical eye.
