Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I've seen so many posts (especially on shtwt) glazing kai razors for working excellently when it comes to harming yourself.

I'm not new to the self-harm cycle; I actually quite enjoy it. However, I've never used a kai razor before. I stick to my regular ol' stainless steel double-edged razorblades, and I've been using those for years.

However.... I did cave and buy a singular pack of kai razors (with bandages/anti-septic of course). I really want to use them for a session, but I admit that a cowardly part of me is terrified of hitting beans with them. Everyone mentions how sharp the blades are and how little pressure you have to use in order for them to split you open like a grape. I love styros, but have no desire to hit beans (did it only once, and it was miserable). I have no method of stitching myself up, and as pretty as gaping wounds are, I really don't want to test out how well my immune-deficient body can heal them.

I want brutally honest advice from anyone who has used a kai razor- how hard do I have to push in order to not cut too deeply? Barely any pressure? No pressure at all? I know it sounds stupid asking for 'safety advice' on cutting, but I couldn't help but ask. I don't want to dig into beans on accident, especially since razorblades require way more pressure to slice n' dice from the sound of it. If I press as hard as I'm used to with a kai, I'm aware that I can butcher myself way more than I'm prepared to deal with.
