I saw a post saying that cutting isn't recommended because of the fact that arteries are very deep beneath the skin and it would be extremely hard to reach them.
But isn't wrist artery supposed to be an exception? IIRC wrist arteries are supposed to be right beneath a thin layer of skin so it would be relatively easy to reach them with something like a razor blade (especially compared to other arteries).
Is my knowledge correct or am I getting something wrong?

(I'm not trying to suggest that cutting is a good method or anything. I'm just a bit confused about whether my knowledge about wrist arteries being exceptionally shallow compared to other arteries is correct or not)

it's about 1.5 cm deep and cutting it hurts like breaking a bone.

Yes, some blood vessels are more superficial than others for obvious reasons.
You are also correct about cutting not being a good method. It's a high-risk, low-success method.

This is what I'm confused about. Google says wrist arteries are only about 2-5mm below but I keep hearing some people say they're deeper than that.. I don't know which one to believe..

(BTW I really hope you're doing okay right now...)

Okay thanks I have a few questions
(You don't have to answer the ones you don't feel like answering)

1. Did you actually manage to cut the artery? If you did, how did you survive? (Did you panic and call for help or were you somehow found by someone else not long after the cutting? Or did the bleeding just naturally stop before losing enough blood to die?)

2. What did you use to cut yourself? Something like a razor blade?

3. Do you have any lasting effects after recovery? For example, did you damage your tendons or nerves?

4. How much pressure did you have put in to cut that deep? Was it relatively easy or did you have to press the blade really hard?

Cutting your wrist to try and reach a artery is not a good idea. The pain is significant and chances are you'll be in a lot of pain and in and out of consciousness for hours .

I've hit a artery in my arm before and it was definitely one if the worst attempts I've made.

Really sorry to hear that...
But may I ask, how did you survive after hitting an artery? Did you get it treated immediately?

Did blood really pour out like a fountain..? Do you think you would've actually died if you weren't found immediately?

(I'm sorry if my questions are a bit rude. I'm just really curious..)
