• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This is more of a morbid question than a serious consideration for me, as I imagine it would be painful and it's not the method I would use. But does this actually kill you? I've always heard of this method (more often as a joke) but I don't know if the reason it's never discussed here is because it would be very painful or it's not reliable. Anyone have info?

No. If you are in a somewhat recent building all that'll happen is you now sitting in the dark. With a very wet toaster.

This is probably true. I've had some appliances accidentally spilled water on them and nothing really happened. There's a video of some dude dumping a whole bucket on a power strip and nothing happened to it or him. The only way I'd imagine someone would die is if they connect something that is good at conducting electricity into the power outlet and put the end of it in the bath tub.

I mean it is a cartoon method - doesn't work in reality though! You'd need a very powerful toaster in a very old building with dodgy wiring!
