I'm starting to go back into old bad patterns, and I'm wondering if this counts as an ED?

- scared of gaining weight, weigh myself frequently
- limiting food, then suddenly breaking and eating everything in the house
- feeling stupid and guilty every time I eat

BUT
- I don't count calories and I've never purged
- I exercise for reasons other than to lose weight

anything that isnt "healthy" is basically a disorder. a disruption in life that makes it difficult. i dont see why it doesnt count even if it doesnt fall under a specific thing.

Yeah, sounds it. Eating a lot of food at once when it doesn't feel in control is called a binge.

There are many different types/ labels of ED's now.
There's more insight i guess but chances are you do have an ED, especially if you're asking that question.

I myself have an ED

Yes this is most definitely the beginning of a serious eating disorder, probably bulimia.
I think that once you've had an eating disorder, it stays with you for life and you will always be predisposed to it, especially during times of stress.
It's probably best to see your gp for a referral, before it gets even worse (purging, taking laxatives etc.,)

It does not necessarily stay with you for life.

Hmm, I think you'll always be prone to it, and may relapse or may not relapse. It's very much like alcohol and drug addiction, but I accept your opinion. :)
