Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

A surgeon would need to wear this because he is operating on a human body. The average person walking their dog does not need this. The entire human race walking around with a mask covering their face was the symbol. This is why you seen it in advertisements, people post pics with it on people even drove in cars by themselves with it on. It's not for your "safety"
People driving by themselves wearing masks was amusing and preposterous.
I had people yell at me while I was jogging for not wearing a mask.
But if you were a doctor treating Covid patients you would want to be extremely well protected. (Even so nurses and doctors caught covid from their patients. )
Point is, masks are not symbolic - they are a proven medical method for preventing the spread of airborne viruses. Covid is an airborne virus.
The science was indeterminate first - people didn't know what they were dealing with. And some people were excessively cautious. But if you were an old person who could easily die from Covid you would be a total idiot not to err On the side of caution (Unless you wanted to die as many people did who not take the proper precautions – did not wear their masks or get the vaccine. )
What's silly is masks BECAME symbolic- Some people wearing them all the time and yelling at people who didn't as a form of virtue signaling.
Other people not wearing them in protest and some of those people actually catching Covid and dying. Masks should never have been symbolic. They're just a proven medical preventative - nothing more nothing less.

The reality is that global warming is happening whether people believe it or not. It really makes no difference of people think it's a conspiracy theory. The world is already shifting away from fossil fuels. Perhaps not fast enough but it's happening. I think Germany is already 50% renewable energy.

It won't be fast enough shift. Personally I believe it's too late. I can't give any other assessment based on knowledge I have which is somewhat high level
But there will always be angry bald blue collar guys from the US , UK, and Australia who knows better

Yes I realize that… what's going on is public knowledge. I'm sure you have access to high-level information but the science is widely disseminated.
I remember back in 1989 the first George Bush declared it the year of the planet or some thing and they were going to get down to business.
But the oil companies put a stop to that real quick. It was only when we started getting Hurricanes like Katrina and sweltering freakish heat waves breaking records all around the world etc. that people started waking up.
Climate change is one of those unusually difficult issues to report and respond to - it does not mesh well with our global news cycle mentality. It does not make for lurid news watching. It's not the war in Ukraine. It's not the Johnny Depp Amber Heard trial. It's not Donald Trump tossing off a zinger every day. It's not sexy in the slightest. So it's easy to pretend it's not happening. Until you can't get insurance on your house. Or the city you live in gets wiped out. Climate change doesn't care whether you believe it or not.

I won't comment on this poop show, but I will say that encouraging someone to commit suicide is horrible. Opinions matter little when you realize that nothing will matter in a few years anyways.
There have been posts I've disagreed with, but this is insane. Not to mention the fact that such things will only add to the fire this site already catches. Hopefully the reports will help...
I don't think the "media" is actually "hiding" the problem. It's just not a sexy story.
Right now there's no water in Lake Powell. There's a massive drought somewhere in the Third World I can't remember where. I'm sure they'll be another category five hurricane in the fall. But none of these events are reported as a global warming story. It's one event here, one event there.
And if climate change ever does make the" front page" it won't stay there – people get bored of a news story After three or four months (you'll see it with Ukraine… at a certain point people will shift to something else… )
By the time global warming disasters become a rolling catastrophe, it will be way too late as you pointed out to stop it. It'll simply be a matter of coping and mitigating and surviving.
The time to do something about this was the 1970s when the news first broke. Jimmy Carter lowered the speed limit to 55 to save gas and put solar panels on the White House ( Reagan took them down. Alas. )
By the way all of this is really "off-topic." Interesting discussion but probably not for here.
What's rarely talked about is that this crap is going to start bankrupting entire communities, then regions. That will eventually start to grab people's attention. It's already happening here. Last year massive wildfires, then flooding that bisected major highways and drove thousands from their homes. And that's just near me. This is likely to be an extinction level event.

Seeing the prevalence of climate change denial is why I'm planning to check out early. Because for all the attempts made to reduce emissions, for all the mountains of data we've got, for all the efforts to raise awareness... it's still not working. Attitudes have barely changed (and when they have, it's not for the better). In the US, it's seen as 'just another political issue'. And emissions are higher than ever. Nothing would make me happier than to learn things were improving, that the efforts meant something... but it's just become a war of attrition at this point. There are no winners in this. I wish I could make my peace with this. Failing that, I wish I could pretend climate change wasn't a threat. But I can't.
So I'm getting out early- before we pass yet more milestones that make it even harder to adapt and mitigate, while my area isn't feeling the unbearable weight of this, while I can still enjoy the little natural world remaining.
If you were politically interested in the climate debate back in 2009, you might have heard about Climategate. Otherwise, look it up.
You may also want to know that those philanthropes who profess to care about so-called "climate change" have beach-front properties - that's a bit strange, if you actually believe in their message of impending climate disaster, which has been "impending", according to them, every day for many, many years. Those people don't sound much different that Israel whey then proclaim that Iran will annihilate them "very soon" - which they have also said for many, many years.
Also, the planetary temperatures have increased and decreased throughout history - long before our industrial society - so we won't have much impact on the temperature itself.
Having said the above, I do believe that we should do what we can to prevent polluting the planet - such as oil spills and mountains of plastic garbage in the oceans.
