Help Is it okay to store DMC SN in the package it came in?

My SN arrived back in November, and I've just kept it in the original package all this time. It's in some sort of silvery-plastic bag, seemingly vacuum-sealed I think. I haven't opened it yet.

Is this alright for maintaining its purity, or should I transfer it to another container? If so, what would you recommend?

Sealed and unopened it's probably fine.
If you're storing it long term you may want to move it to another container but I don't think that's necessary until you open the packet.

What is DMC? How do I find it. I ordered from a site recommended in the PPH. It's abbreviated "S-D-T". Are they legit?

Personally I put dessicant packs inside an airtight container, but that might be overkill.

I'm not sure about cutting the pack open if it's sealed properly. Maybe you want to put the pack inside one of these airtight jars. I use these kind of jars for fermentation.Maybe use some desiccant packs as well for absorbing moisture as stated above.

Thank you everyone who mentioned desiccant packs, I hadn't thought of this!! I'll also consider storing my SN in another airtight container on top of the vacuum seal (though the size makes it difficult to hide, as I live with other people).

Any more recommendations/advice is appreciated!
