Say, if I were to attempt, but I don't feel like wrapping things up, like writing letters, deleting accounts, deleting files in my phone, etc. Would it be fine to just leave it like that, regardless if I fail or succeed? I don't think I have incriminating things on my social media and my phone. For my browser history, nothing weird, but I would delete it. Now that I mention it, I would probably deactivate one of my twitter accounts. But as for everything else; is it okay to not do anything? Thanks

Of course it's ok. You don't have to leave a note or wipe your phone. It's all down to your personal preference. But honestly if you can manage it I'd advise leaving a note (even if it's a small 1-2 sentence note) if there's anyone you care about. It might bring them some small comfort. That's just me though
You're not obligated to do any of those things

up to you, presumably, there is a password to access your computer and phone. As long as no1 has access to that no1's gonna be able to access your stuff. I don't think anyone would try anyways. if anything, i WOULD NOT deactivate anything because you are more likely to fail then succeed when it comes to suicide

Yeah I'm more worried about my online presence. Like do I need to wipe them off? Or can I leave it up? I do have a draft of my note, maybe I will write it down.

I don't mind people going thru my stuff if I really die, nothing to see here except for my cringy short stories, so maybe I'll just let my phone be? Not gonna do anything to it

You don't need to wipe anything unless you don't want people to see it. If you don't mind then don't worry about it

It's amazing how so many people here who are in such pain and suffering worry about other people and how they're thinking about will impact others.
As for incriminating material, if you hold a critical truth to a mystery that is going to hurt or protect someone, why not share it before you go (I don't mean this in a nasty as in being spiteful to people as a parting shot), if its just a slightly perverse browser history (but not illegal) then I wouldn't sweat it... It won't be a problem for you and no one will think about it anywhere near as long as you have.
Love and respect brother.

Oh, well then I think it would be okay to let it be. Thanks for the answer

Just to point out, this depends on the method. If OP is using SN, N or full suspension hanging this would be unlikely to fail if they've done their research and don't call for help. So for that reasoning I would say if OP is fully committed to doing this, then closing accounts might be a good idea if they're concerned about their privacy.

Not saying they should be concerned about privacy - that's entirely up to them.

I guess deleting computer/ phone stuff we could call polite, maybe? just so obviously sources and sites are less likely to gain unwanted attention?

Im not saying you have to do this or should. I have thought what if i deleted everything and then failed. then i'd have to re-find all the info etc gathered!!! I will not be failing though!!!!!

Think with the amount of people that use this site it's an inevitability that this site is going to get attention from angry family members anyway. Theres already a Facebook group full of them. Suppose it doesn't hurt though.

Never knew that!! Im not bothered about that me personally! just, i wonder if other people may have give out a bit more information than others!!!! Its like the sources. i mean, it wouldn't be hard to find out who the people we 'secretly talk about and PM each other about" but you can make it that 'little bit' harder by what you do!

I never put SS in my browser history. The weirdest thing in there is probably the enormous amount of fanfics I read lol. I'm asking this because I see a lot of people tying up loose ends before attempting. I don't feel up to it, too bothersome. Not to mention the probability of failing (I use full suspension). Would my family even go thru my stuff? I don't know but it doesn't seem like they would. It won't matter if I die though. I think I will leave my accounts and my files, and just delete the browser history just in case.

In the case of your method, maybe not. In the case of using an illegal drug etc maybe police could look through? I'm not saying this happens, or trying to scare anyone( doesn't worry me). but i have read cases it happened.

can't even get a bit of privacy after you CTB!!!

I mean in my case i am seen to be on the computer alot more than i ever was before!!!!
