Discussion Is it fucked up too request no funeral, no gravestone and no memorial service in my suicide note?

I don't want any memory of me on this planet. I want too be cremated and dumped but I don't know if this will hurt my loved ones. Will this make the grieving process for loved ones harder?

It's great that you have loved ones to think about during your final days. If you truly care about them and you believe it would help them grieve then i think you should do a funeral service.
In my honest opinion though, I see no reason to have a funeral service or memorial service. I think it's superficial and unnecessary. But it's not like parents will respect those wishes.

I hope they respect your wishes. There's something to consider: you'll be dead, so you won't even know if they buried/cremated/dumped you in the ocean/whatever. If you think they'll grieve easier with a specific funeral protocal - and it feels right for you - I'd let them know to do. Because, I'll be dead anyway. Just leave a note describing what you'd like to do with your remains. Then you have to hope they follow through

They cost a lot of money and also the idea of my funeral just annoys me. I just feel like I should be forgotten as fast as possible as if I never existed. That's why I'm dumping all my belongings before death so I can be forgotten about as fast as possible. Another reason is I don't know how many people would show up… i have been living alone and isolating myself living off savings planning my ctb these past few months so i don't know how may have forgotten about me .

Yep same. fcuk the funeral industry making a fortune off dead people and their families.

And also I think society uses funerals etc to reinforce the pro-life perspective. Fear of death and promoting the virtues of staying alive at all costs.

not in the slightest, ive known many people that have done the same. ultimately it's ur choice, anyone who says otherwise has their own issues
