Honestly, I've become so disconnected from everyone in my life that I wouldn't even know what to put in my note..
I now have the means to CTB anytime I want with SN, writing a note for everyone significant in my life sounds so exhausting. I wonder if that makes me a bad person :/
I will leave a note of some sort to indicate that it was a suicide.. I still wish I had a better shot at life :p

I'm not writing a note. My family abandoned me, they don't deserve one.

I don't think not leaving a note makes you a bad person. It's your decision, nobody else's.

I am writing one to my close family members but nobody else, I see how it can be exhausting. It really is up to you, I agree that it doesn't make you a bad person. I hope that my note will give them some closure personally and explain why, and say that now I am at peace. We are all different and we have different circumstances.

My note will be pretty bare bones as well, just a few sentences stating that this is a suicide and that no one else is at fault. I feel a bit guilty for not including my reasons, but I just don't feel like writing truthfully about my worldview. The prospect of having a long form suicide note be read by all my family members (a lot of people) seems incredibly unappealing, especially since a lot of them probably won't understand it or will just dismiss my ideas as the product of a disturbed mind. I don't even think that it would matter anyway, they're going to grieve with or without a comprehensive suicide note.

I left a note excusing myself to the landlord for kinda... leaving a mess behind (I've been in deeper and deeper depression through the years and didn't took good care of me and of the place at all) and my corpse on his apartment.
It's ridiculous but I felt like writing it and so I did.
Also left a note to whoever finds my body (I'm alone in life, but my work will miss me, idk if they'll just assume I quit without warning or they'll call the police to make an welfare check on me. If they assume I quit them my landlord will be the one checking after rent is late) to warn my one and last friend I had. I broke the friendship due to my depression but we were very close friends. Think he'd like to know what happened to me.
And that's all. I've got no family or whatever. So I don't worry about it.

It's a personal choice but you can always write a generic suicide note addressed to a few people. Or one to someone very important to you. Or nothing at all.

When I first decided to write a note, I'd write actual deep stuff. But then I realised it's pointless rambling on.

So I've just got two notes, one for my dad and one for an old family friend. Pretty much saying 'Please don't think it's your fault, I decided to take my own life…your not to fault.' ..'Thanks for everything dad, love you always'

It may be appropriate to write a suicide note so that those who find you understand that the cause of death was suicide. But to write something more depends on the circumstances.

I'm writing to each kid, to my husband and to the few people still in my life, who accept me.
Ive asked my husband to let my ex sisters know by sending them copies of my obituary. Saying that I was an only child.
Childish, maybe But it make me smile. So I'll take it.

I wrote a very long one expressing all of my reasons, my anger at what was done to me etc but now I think I'll just leave a short one. No one really cares to listen or take seriously my true feelings while I alive, I don't think they will when I'm gone. Also I don't want to make them feel guilty or something. Just maybe a short one expressing that I love them, that this couldn't had been prevented and my reason (my illness) I may also provide a bunch of links with info about the iatrogenic illness I have (they don't believe me, take my condition seriously, or care about reading the information, but maybe when I'm gone they will? who knows)

!!!! This is the exact way I feel. No matter what reasons I give, they'll just think I was misguided or imagining things. If anything, my note will just tell people to be happy that I'm finally at peace and no longer feeling pain

That's a very good idea. So many notes are overwhelmingly negative (for good reason) so adding a positive side could be encouraging family and friends to try to see the brighter side.

It's pretty sad that you can pour your heart out into a note and you'll always just be dismissed or looked down on. :(

I'm not entirely sure if I'd leave a note but there's a big chance I'd be pretty dramatic and just take some of my favorite meaningful lyrics and leave them on some paper out of context to let people decide what I was trying to say. But then again I don't want to upset people so maybe just leave nothing. I feel like giving people words to hang onto might prolong their grieving. But maybe that's just my own family and friends who I feel would react that way.

I mean the last thing I told my parents was to go fuck themselves, so I'd leave a note just saying it's not their fault and I'm sorry, even though I despise them. I'd leave a separate note to my brother just telling him I'm sorry and I love him and I wished I had spent more time with him. Other than that, fuck everyone else.

Either that, or conversely it could give them closure if you explained why you did it. But obviously it's a personal choice.

Instead of writing a note i went into the into the wilderness a couple of weeks ago where i filmed myself chatting about the good things that has happend to me in my life, and a seperate video talking about my suicide and why i've chosen to do it - and all the negative things attached to that. This way my family will have a have a happy video to remember me by and myself on tape since i dont really think im on tape anywhere else. And they will have an explanation of my suicide if they choose to watch that also. I will store this on a usb brick with a note attached somewhere visible on my body.
