I've seen some people say this, but I don't quite understand why. Is it because the discomfort of hunger makes you more likely to vomit? What if you don't feel hunger anyway?

Everything except for: (1) doing it on an empty stomach, (2) having enough (vomiting included) SN and (3) having an ok purity (blood test), I think is optional. What I picked up from the forum, at least.

Fasting for just the right amount of time, or even taking AEs, just reduce the "risk" of vomiting. Someone posted a nice chart that depicted how many grams were absorbed when we drink X amount of SN and then vomit, chug another glass, and so on. Some SN is basically always absorbed and it doesn't take a lot to be lethal in comparison to the total consumed amount.

Your fasting so the SN is absorbed in your body quicker. If you don't have food or water it makes it harder for your body to vomit it out.

I'm asking about fasting for longer than the recommended time, specifically. Would it increase stomach acid or something?

Fasting from 24 to 48 hours is optimal, I don't see where you saw the opposite.

The recommended time IS 48 hours. Not 8.

The 48 hours is for beginning the regimen. Stan says 8 hours for fasting.

You're right, my bad.

It seems fasting for 48 hours empties the stomach completely (even the residues of food), increases the acidity of the blood a little bit and improves digestion afterwards. So I think overall it's preferable if you're healthy, but it's just my opinion.

From what I've seen absorption is improved from 24 to 48 hours of fasting and worsened after 48 hours progressively.

Is it possible that fasting for 24-48 hours will lead to an increase in stomach acid? I have GERD, so I will probably plan to take PPIs several days prior and during, with those being the only medications aside from my SSRI
