• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

That'd be soooo

Damn could you link me to a story of that happening? I can't believe those people think getting taken away by the police will actually help.

Has the cops thing actually happened before? I read it has. :/
Through my research, in Australia is isnt illegal as such, providing there is proof of the pact being made. The person who backed out would probably be detained for menta health reasons, but not charged

I just can't afford to be victimized anymore. One of the reasons I'm such a failure in life is I'm a horrible judge of character. I trust and want to help everyone and am poor at discerning the wolves in sheep's clothing.

That resonates with me so much its painful. A lot of bad had happened to me prior but if I had never trusted my most recent ex I would not be as bad off as I am now. Thanks to him stealing from me I have basically nothing except I did get my dog back thankfully. He did do a pretty good job of hiding himself as a decent human being but still...

Provocative! I respect your perspective--truly. And I think you have a good point that there's some selfishness in keeping a well-researched method and its implementation to ourselves. I tried about three years ago to go with someone else who had a lot less cash for resources than I did. I did all the work, even renting a large cabin on 35 acres of pristine private forested property on the US/Canada border where we'd both have the peace we said we desperately needed to make our final legal plans. That person not only robbed me of over $10K in cash but eventually made the time hellish by involving his on-again-off-again girlfriend, even bringing her up to what was for me a refuge before the end.

Long story short, it was a months-long nightmare that lead to years of even worse suffering, including the defrauding of my entire life's savings I'd hope to leave for a few organizations. Now, I'm gravely impoverished and nearly homeless. As much as I would LIKE to help others, I just can't afford to be victimized anymore. One of the reasons I'm such a failure in life is I'm a horrible judge of character. I trust and want to help everyone and am poor at discerning the wolves in sheep's clothing. I've tried to make suicide packs multiple times in the past, actually. It always-always-always fails. I've even had people reject my joining their group or going with them because, and it's humiliating to admit this but it might help others, I'm the wrong type of person (wrong gender, wrong age, wrong appearance...). I've been stunned to learn that even at the end, moments before dying, you can still be rejected as "wrong."

When it finally happens for me, it will be quick, quiet, and 100% alone. I hope you and others can find whatever peace you might need/want with other CTBers.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you, you sound like a kind person .

I don't think ctb alone is selfish. I think it's using common sense, especially if the potential partner is someone over the internet that you've never met.

What a "woke" government. Is it universal - across Aussie (federal) - or does it vary by state? These matters are localized - in the US for instance. Also EU.

So @FTL.Wanderer do you really live under the tree :pfff: That's a powerful symbol of what a life with mental problems is. Nice avatar thanks for representing us.

It is federal law, however euthanasia is up to states/territories to decide, for example it was legal in the Northern Territory for a short time in the 90's.

Australian government has weird laws, for example I could be fined $100,000 just for accessing this website

Nothing about "suicide prevention" would surprise me at all anymore. I was committed once and berated the whole time on the way there AND while handcuffed to a bed, half naked, waiting for intrusive examinations with an officer assigned to "watch" me. He hated it and let me know what he thought of people like me. And then it seemed like the doctors and nurses enjoyed jabbing needles cruelly to get blood and other samples--like they were punishing me for wasting their valuable time. We treat suicidal people like sexual predators in this country (USA). And the courts have consistently rejected appeals by rights lobbyists to empower patients with more dignity, even if not more personal freedoms. I couldn't be more disillusioned where US "mental health" is concerned.

As someone who's been there, I'm really, really sorry. Betrayal and abuse--things so many people make fun of--can eviscerate you emotionally and cognitively. Add to that financial theft and the combination can be lethal. It says a lot about our country's legal priorities that in these instances, even being armed with mountains of official documents--bank statements, notarized legal contracts...--the courts and police won't help you. YOU have to pay gobs of money to private investigators (finding the parties who hurt you), lawyers (drafting the right legal cases and arguing in legalese in courts), sheriffs (delivering legal documents so the other party can't weasel out and say they never got them)... and even then, even if you can prove legally you've been defrauded, it's up to the state attorney general to decide if the amount of money involved is "worth" the state's time. Can you f*ing believe that? Someone can steal everything you've spent your life working for but the state can still say they won't help because to them it's too little money involved. That's US justice.

Yes the US really has a bad reputation, but I would say mental patients generally and the suicidal particularly hardly get proper care anywhere in the hands of public officers. Hollywood depicts this well enough. The loss of faculty and therefore agency is the biggest culprit in this sorry state of affairs. Everyone will presume you have no sane reflection of any events thus your protests are a symptom.

I think CTBing alone is selfish. Most people here are stuck in unhappy life yet afraid to die, especially because peaceful death is so difficult to get. For some more than others depending on afflictions, locations or means.

So if you have found a fair method, live in close proximity to an SS member(s), yet chose to CTB alone...

Well, just like some selfish people who are well and capable but won't lift a finger to ease your suffering. How different are you really if you won't help someone so miserable die?

Not risking jail time, being stopped, the other person changing their mind is seriously selfish, seriously get a grip. You should be convincing your friends and family to support the right to die-way before you demand everyone does not ctb alone.

I'm sorry you went through that trauma. I considered my forced "treatment" to have been kidnapping. I find it ironic that they talk about ending mental health stigma and then go and treat us like prisoners. Their view of ending stigma is just getting more patients to degrade themselves.

It's really simple. YOU think to CTB alone is selfish. So, if you think it's a bad thing to be selfish, then don't do it alone. QED

last thing i need is to ctb with a partner that wimps out at the last minute and decides to tell people whats going on while i become a vegetable. shouldn't trust anyone when the stakes are this high. the only way i'd be okay with doing it with a partner is if they go first

I can't remember the exact name, but it has to do with using electronic means to access information that could be seen as coaching and inciting people to ctb.

I will CTB alone, because if I do it with someone else who succeeds and I fail for whatever reason, I will feel guilty and I could be charged for involuntary manslaughter. I don't see what could possibly be selfish in CTBing alone.
