I'm lucky enough to live in an area with incredibly lax gun laws, so I can purchase one. Is shooting myself in the head the best way? How would I angle it for the best chances to go instantly?

2. Shooting from below to the chin - crazy. Is the way for face lost.

A fast and reliable way to ctb, if you aim right. Aim for the brain stem and it's better to use a gauge-shotgun than a handgun I I'm pretty sure there's a percentage somewhere around that thread that shows it's better to use a shotgun. Can't imagine the horror of someone who finds you though.

Don't use a handgun, if you can avoid it. A shotgun is much better, and probably the best choice. If you use a rifle, it might be a good idea to use hollow point ammo.

A gunshot is a very lethal option, but here's what a corpse in a coffin will look like and whether it can be opened, but if it doesn't matter, then this is a working method if the vector is correctly determined.

I'm sure if done right a gun would be a quick way to go. If I was going to do it, I'd have to do it outside though, cause I wouldn't want someone to stumble onto that sight/ have to clean the mess up.

I think guns would be the absolute holy grail for most. Quick and peaceful. Issue is outside the USA not many can legally access them.

You don't want to go smaller than .40 or so. Generally, the bigger the better—hence, shotgun. The most foolproof method with any firearm is to insert the barrel into your mouth, right up against the soft palette between the roof of your mouth and the downslope of your throat. Study diagrams extensively. There won't be any showing a gun pointed where it needs to be, but visualizations of brain stem location relative to the oral cavity should be pretty self explanatory.

Whatever you do, do not shoot under the chin with a handgun. Projectiles are known to deflect significantly—enough so that people have had a bullet enter their head and slide all the way around the inner roof of their cranium and toward the back of the neck, dealing significant damage without actually killing them. Worst possible outcome. Again, this doesn't really matter with a 12ga shotgun… You won't have much of a head left.

The upside to handguns is higher likelihood of being presentable at the funeral, if you care about that sort of thing. Lying face up with your mouth closed in the casket, head supported by cushions, the exit wound should be concealed and you'd look relatively normal. Just don't let anyone you love discover your body after the deed, the exit wound is still alarming to view… If you're not used to it.

If you feel fear, that's normal. I'm planning on inert gas asphyxiation, but when I had planned on using a handgun, I frequented a website with gun suicide footage. It became pretty clear that a proper shot is an instant death, any apparent "struggle" is the last response of the nervous and muscle systems as your brain function is eliminated. It's as instant as a death can be. A lot of the fear of the unknown went away. Even people who didn't know quite where to aim seemed to die instantly.

I remember reading somewhere a supposed ex-cop was saying that he saw alot of attempted suicides where the individual survived with horrific consequences.
He advised people to shoot the back of the head.
I think I'd be gone by now too if I had a gun. I found a very short barrel shotgun for cheap available at cabellas. But I don't have my gun license.

It's been a while since I looked, but I remember hearing in the UK shotguns are still possible to obtain for farmers or hobby shooters, but there's tons of background checks and other prerequisites — including social media checks.

I'm already in the mental health system, so there's no way I'd ever get approved.

What if I put a 30.06 rifle , or 12 gauge shotgun, or AR-15, like u described insert the barrel into your mouth, right up against the soft palette between the roof of your mouth and the downslope of your throat.

I guess aimed at 30 to 45 degrees angle up.

What chances of death with each would u say?
