I genuinely don't get why anyone wears shoes with laces. The only pro to laces that I've really been able to think of in most common day-to-day situations is that they can be adjusted much more easily than velcro. A well fitted Velcro shoe is much more efficient in virtually every other respect.

Like I'm not being cynical and saying most people are stupid, because most people are going to vote reasonably responsibly, they're just always going to be less informed than political scientists, economists, and sociologists. A system of panels of experts voting would be a better political system, but universal sufferage is good enough
