Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
It all depends on the situation, motivation and luck.

If someone thinks that sooner or later fate will smile on them, then in my opinion such a person is naive. It doesn't work like that.
Sometimes you can do everything right, but still lose. There is no rule.

But sometimes it is possible to come back and live in relative happiness.
But as I mentioned above, everything depends on various factors and we have no influence on some of them.

If you have the energy, motivation, desire, etc. then fight.
But we shouldn't expect that this fight will always and everywhere bring us positive results.
That's how this world works and there's nothing we can do about it.

I agree @ramon , some things could improve but that doesn't mean there would be enough time to enjoy them.

Every day lost, which turns into months, then years... ends up being too late.

The words you used in your post expresses my idea way better than I wanted to, @hereornot
