Venting Im tired thinking about all the things I need to take care of before I CTB

I wish there was a list of things you should take care of before CTB.

My mind is really foggy right now so it's hard to think about what I need to do. But I have time and sometimes I have bursts of energy.

I need to do things like delete all my phone/computer data, throw away or donate stuff that I don't want people to see after I'm gone.

And I then I have to spend a lot of time researching my CTB method. And I have to make my suicide note…

I don't know what else I need to do. If anyone has any recommendations of what I can add to my list that would be cool.

I just want to make things easy for my family after I die. I'm not superwoman so I know I can't do everything but I want to at least try if I can.

3. Make a list of your logins for important accounts and devices, just in case loved ones need to access them for 2FA or something.
4. Compile a list of important documents like your birth certificate, passport, etc.
5. Prepare an obituary, if you wish, so that loved ones don't have to write one themselves
6. Make a list of important contacts you have.
7. Choose a funeral home. Make arrangements for how you want your funeral conducted

Mostly just 2-factor authentication in the event they needed to access your bank accounts or something. I don't actually know what happens with those (maybe someone with experience can chime in?) so I just throw it in just in case. If you're worried about embarrassing stuff you don't need to do it. I'm fairly certain that even without a will your bank will just put it into your trust. If you're paranoid about it you can also make sure to go in and delete all the embarrassing things. There's a very small chance the police might have it be a homicide investigation unless it's a clear-cut suicide, and if that's the case they'd be going through your devices. It's extremely unlikely but it's a non-zero chance. The police won't give a shit about what you have. Trust me, whatever you've got they've seen 10,000x worse.

you can try selling the stuff that you think they would struggle to sell. leave the easy stuff for them to take or sell on their own. if you want them to have the money you can send it through your bank right before your ctb or leave it as cash on your table. do keep in mind that once you start selling stuff and making preparations, it'll be really hard to go back if you change your mind. only do it if you're completely dedicated and made up your mind 100%

Unless it's something absolutely despicable probably not. My grandfather had stolen thousands of armor piercing 5.56 bullets from the US military. The police didn't even know cause they didn't care to search his belongings even though when we found him it looked like a murder scene. If you're really worried about it... well I can't legally give counsel and I don't want to make any suggestions that might get me in trouble. You get the point.

I've done a lot of petty illegal things. Nobody cares. Now if you ended up murdering someone well that might be a different story. You didn't do anything that bad... right?

No it wasn't that bad. I just bought drugs from this guy… I just don't want them thinking of me like I'm that person.

Oh fair. Yeah no the police aren't gonna care if they do end up looking at your devices unless you come from a place like Japan where the culture around drugs is very stringent and demonized. Most police though couldn't care less. They've seen it a thousand times.

You raise an interesting question; I'd like to know the answer to that too.

This forum has a vast number of threads going back a very long time; only the most recently created threads show up under 'Normal threads'.

The rest are mostly forgotten I would imagine, unless they're "Sticky'd" or specifically searched for using the search function.

An improvement suggestion for the site could be adding an option to view 'Hot' threads. 'Hot' could be defined by an algorithmic combination of 'Views' and 'Replies' with respect to time.

Search results could then also by sorted by how 'Hot' they are.
