• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I made the choice to admit myself to the psych ward back in December because I naively thought things would get better. Then I explained in full detail to my psychiatrist about how I've had suicidal thoughts since childhood. Well now on my health chart it's labeled as suicidal thoughts. So now I'll fail a background check for a gun I'm pretty sure. I just want to buy a 44 mag and get this shit over with. I want the back of my skull to be blown open and obliterated.

There are five main ways that loss of gun rights (temporary or permanent) can occur:
Emergency holds
Involuntary civil commitment (inpatient or outpatient)
Voluntary admission (inpatient or outpatient)
Extreme risk protection orders (ERPO)
Diagnosis

This is my current understanding:
Federally prohibitive: involuntary civil commitment to inpatient facility
Varies by state: involuntary outpatient admission, emergency holds, voluntary admission, ERPO, diagnosis

It really depends on the state. Where I live it is easy to buy a gun but a few months ago when I bought my last gun they had a mandatory wait period. I've been able to avoid the dreaded involuntary commitment though, don't ask me how. Hell I have a ccw permit for 38 states.
