Discussion Im going to lose my only anchor

Today was my birthday, i turned 20. I had to cancel all my plans. Because my cat (iris) is dying. Shes onky two years okd but she swallowed a foreign object & hasnt eaten in four days. Her surgery is gna be tmrw or after tmrw. With a high chance of her not making it.
I know this may seem stupid to those who have no pets. But you really do love them like your own child.
She was the only thing holding me back. She spends every moment in my arms, i cant even go to the bathroom without her crying outside the door. She is the absolute love of my life.
& i was holding her in my arms just yesterday… & now i might lose her just like that.
losing her will be my last straw…the pain i am in right now is already unbearable. I cant fathom how much worse itll be if she actually dies.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you and Iris. My own cat, Bagheera, has really helped me through a lot of rough spots in my life. I couldn't imagine what I would do without him. I hope she has a swift recovery if possible, she's a beautiful soul. We're both hoping for her, and if she does go I'm sure she will miss you as much as you miss her.

I'm really so sorry. My dog was the best thing that ever happened to me. She almost didn't make it through a surgery as well, and it was terrifying, but she pulled through. The memory of visiting her in recovery still makes me cry, I was so relieved. I wish little Iris the best, and hope with all my heart tomorrow you'll be at the vet petting her as she wakes up from her successful surgery

Hoping for the best for Iris's surgery. I'm the same, it's only my cats keeping me here and if anything happened to Stan (in my avatar) I don't think, I know, I'll have to ctb. He is such a wonderful friend and companion and he follows me all around the house.
