I once met someone in a clinic. This person was a similar mental wreck than me. It is rather rare I meet someone in real life with a similar bad mental health.
The person was also interested in politics. I met this person two times. I met him a second time at another clinic stay years afterwards. And he had no teeth anymore. Or at least extremely black teeth. I think he rejected the idea of brushing them. We both took too much benzos in the meantime. They are pretty dangerous and just made our problems worse. I think though he took more benzos than me and also more frequently. I can remember he was very offensive towards staff members. And I wondered it seemed like they didn't blame him for that. I think the benzo withdrawal made him aggressive, I think he wasn't suicidal though.

He told me he once was on welfare. He inherited a house and had to sell it. He got like 150k for it. But you are not allowed to have this amount of money if you are on welfare. So he had to spend that money. He spent everything on clothes. He was sometimes a little bit too open about his sexuality. I wonder why he didn't consider to decide for an escort service. It was some time ago but I think he might have had a significant other to that time. He told me he regrets afterwards that she spent everything on clothes. I told him a small apartment would have been a wiser choice. In my country you are allowed to own a small apartment even if you are on welfare from what I know.

The story made me think what I would do with this amount of money. I don't have that amount of money. I would maybe decide for a small apartment. But if also this wasn't possible.
Everything in gambling of course. Jk.

I think sex work can be unethical. Maybe I would use a lot from this money on ethical sex work. I had to think about the conditions though. My friends joked obviously one should spend that money on drug and sex parties. Well I think I don't want to take drugs. I have to admit I take one anti anxiety medication that has a very positive impact on my sexuality. But I consider this off-label use and not drug abuse. Lol. I think sex parties in my friend group would be extremely awkward and uncomfortable. I also would not want to see my friends naked. Lol. There are videos of soccer players that treat sex workers extremely disrespectful. Tabloid media reported about it. Clothes would interesting. I don't like traveling. Oh when I asked chatGPT for feedback. It reminded me of one obvious answer for me. New teeth. I don't think my teeth look that horrible but I envy people with really good looking teeth. I would like to have the Jürgen Klopp version of teeth. (German soccer trainer who bought himself new teeth.)
Lol.

I think I will end it here.

Do you have to spend it in a way that means you have no assets left? I'd buy the most crazy-expensive car I could... an audi? Would that use up 100k?

Theoretically more like an asset that cannot be taken away by the government when applying for welfare. Something that isn't considered of much value.

For becoming more wealthy; even if I had 100k euros, it's not possible to fulfill all of my dreams in short time!
But would the right investments be really possible to make within such a short time period? and well, such an amount of money has a bigger weight to it on the market so it'd be even more tricky. I'd probably aim at multiplying or saving it.
If I were forced to spend.... that'd be tricky too! but I bet there would be plenty of things to do with that.. [games and anime, cosplays.. and other things surely would be a drain lmao, aside from any "professional" or useful things that could that be spent on]

150k on clothes is insane work. Idk if that's allowed, but I'd invest in ETFs and some singular stocks. If I couldn't do that, I'd buy myself a car, tho I don't know which, but not for all the money. I'd prob also buy myself some clothes, a new phone and some shit I don't need but find aesthetically pleasing.
I btw don't necessarily think that sex work is immoral, but I personally wouldn't want to pay sb to be intimate with me

Half of it to pay off my debt.

The other half? I dunno, a Subway sandwich would be nice, and some bus tickets to go see my friends.

I'd start living the dream by buying an apartment and then investing the rest of my money into stocks. At least that's what I'll say if I ever get asked in real life.

Quite frankly I would buy tickets to fly somewhere far away and order a hitman to kill me there and dispose of the body. I think that's a great compromise for everyone I know in regards to killing myself. Can't prove that I did it if it's a missing persons case

I'd buy a huge batch of Nembutal and distribute it among the most debilitated members of SaSu... that is, before my CTB!! Ah, but with so much money, why die? Because it's not about the money for me—simple as that!! 🤷🏻‍♀️🥹

If I had that much money, I think I'd use it to travel the world, try all kinds of food, drink different kinds of beer (I don't like whiskey, rum, or vodka), eat different kinds of meat and fish, get a full-body massage, try to talk to other people just to pass the time, and enjoy a good, heartfelt conversation.

I would never give money directly because people don't usually appreciate the effort it takes to earn that much money. But I would treat them to a meal and a drink.

I would never use it for sexual purposes. I don't think that's right.

I would then probably use it all on life expenses and gambling lol ( I play too many gacha games )

Sadly that is only enough to buy a tiny and shitty apartment if any at all. At least in any place I would want to live.
So if allowed, invest it, otherwise travel the world and have some sex with actual good sex workers in an ethical way (which is hella expensive)

There are many ways to interpret this question, mostly revolving around "does the asset you purchase disappear/are you not allowed to buy re-sellable things".

Leaving 100k as it is is economically a bad choice - you want to invest it in something always. Personally I'd go for 25% emergency funds, 50% into starting a mortgage or rent, the other 25% for living expenses and to set yourself up for future success, e.g. buying course access into certificates, setting up a home workstation, or attend a school.

If you're not allowed to re-sell your properties (and you must spend it in a short time, so no emergency funds), you'd still want to go for anything that sets yourself up for success - books, cooking tools, courses, even a luxury gaming PC is even a good choice, a computer is extremely versatile.

Eventually it comes down to using money to create more money. In fact, the question exists irl, and the people providing the money are called "investors". Have you seen Shark Tank? If you can provide a good answer, people will even give you real 100k.

It's also possible in any form of trading (shorter time horizon than investing). If you prove you make profits they will give you even hundreds of thousands to work with and you keep between 70 and 90% of the profits for yourself depending on the size of the account.

Yes, you are referring to what's called Asset Managers, and they exist - firms and institutions that attracts external investors and managing their money, taking part of the profit.

For trading specifically as an activity however, the risk ceiling is too high, so I don't recommend it. If you're sophisticated enough to make consistent profit in trading, then chances are you're already rich or capable of joining/are part of some quant firms. In that case the 100k is meaningless to begin with.

Asset managers are in the investment context, usually with a time horizon of buy and hold >1 year

Trading generally means everything with a horizon of less than a year and can be as short as seconds or minutes if you trade with a margin broker. Also it incorporates long and short trades. What I referred to before is called prop trading actually.

If trading is risky, people are doing it wrong. Obviously a risk always exists, but if strategies are properly tested before using them with real money and correctly executed, the risk is quite minimal.

Regarding jobs in that segment, unless you have already demonstrated to be able to do this successfully none of the big players in this market are interested in you really. And at the point they are there isn't really much reason for you to be interested in them unless you have no equity of your own to play with.
With a few 100k you can make a sustainable 6 digit income from this, 20-40% of the equity yearly pretty much. Prop trading can be a good way towards that, but you need to be past gambler mentality, otherwise you will just lose your money and theirs and the prop trading account will be closed long before you lost their money obviously (a small amount does come from you to open the account, but usually thats sub 5%).

I've been doing this for a few years now and have entirely not used real money for the first 2 until I felt safe about what I was doing and my strategies were proven to work. Now I do it with both my own money and via prop trading (or I would if depression wouldnt be such a bitch atm)
