  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I've been researching assisted suicide and euthanasia for a bit and I'm just curious what everyone's thoughts are on the subject. Would you choose it as your CTB method? How would you wish for your experience to be? Just discuss it in general, I'm interested in hearing some opinions :)

I'd tan that pentobarbital like it was my last ever shot, down the hatch and off on my merry way to purgatory.

Peace, but not really cause i don't think this ever ends, i was non existent once and poof, misery.

A blink of an eye and maybe this happens again

Ask me again in a couple of days. Seriously though, I suppose it's better on paper than blowing my brains out with a handgun in the middle of the woods. At the same time though, this is such a private, personal decision for me that I'm not sure I could tolerate the (necessary) bureaucracy involved. I honestly would rather not involve other people. However, if it helped my family gain closure, I could do it.

Yes, definitely. The one drawback though would be needing someone you know to go with you (to identify the body.) That wouldn't be a fun conversation.

Plus- in the UK, it's currently illegal to assist in a suicide. Not that I think it's happened but I believe there is the risk that the person that accompanies you could be putting themself at risk.

In a way, I would feel the need to tell more people somehow too- seeing as it would be a legitimate legal procedure. I don't know. It would be a dilema really.

Plus- obviously- the cost too. I don't think it's cheap. Besides, they wouldn't accept me in my current state anyway but I know this is a hypothetical. I doubt it's as straight forward as people fantasize though.

Of course, it would just be so relieving to have the option to peacefully cease existing in a guaranteed way. I mean after all we are all just waiting to cease existing anyway so I see it as the most ideal to die in a peaceful way on my own terms. In my case I'd certainly see it as better to cease existing no matter what, it isn't like anyone can suffer from being eternally unaware, the non-existent have no problems or concerns after all.

And in comparison existence just causes suffering and so much harm, it's terrifying how there is no limit as to how much one can suffer in this evil world. So having the option to be euthanised certainly would be so incredibly relieving, I despise how it's not allowed where I exist. Euthanasia could only ever be something positive as it means finding peace from the burden of existing as a human, to me human existence was a terrible, tragic mistake in the first place, only non-existence is desirable. I don't have any interest in deteriorating from age in this meaningless existence there was never a need for, in my case ceasing to exist would solve everything.

I mean.. Both options are for people who issues with quality of life (ie, impaired functionality in terms of day to day, or constant and measurable pain)..
As I'm not there yet, probably no since I seriously doubt i would qualify based on preliminary checks they do for euthanasia/assisted suicide.
If i reach a certain age/point in time where clinically im like suffering every minute, I don't think i'd wait for my euthanasia request to be approved. I'm hoping i'd find a way to go it myself while in the hospital bed.

I would and hopefully will be able to.
In Canada, MAiD(medical assistance in dying) for mental illness was suppose to be approved last March, however, they pushed it back a year in order to ensure proper research and protocols.
It should be put into place this March, however what I've read so far isn't promising and I'm scared they will push it back more.
I have been impatiently awaiting this as I know I will qualify once it is finally approved.

Most likely! I'm still unsure about my willingness to die but it would be my preferred method without a doubt.

Makes sense! <3

I assumed the same. There's probably lotssss of legal bullshit and whatnot. If it were easy, I think a lot more people would be doing it.

I'm fascinated. What makes you qualified in their eyes? How do you go about it? I'd love to know what the process is like and how it's been/will be for you! I hope you're able to do it soon <3

It pretty much isn't from what I've looked up, theres a song and dance procedure and psychiatrists appointments.

If you are depressed you are deemed not stabled minded and don't qualify, if doing the swiss methods. Which is bullshite but aye okay lol

Why cant futurama suicide booths exist here in the UK fook..😜

totally.. it's just the best option, really. no mess for anyone to clean up afterwards, the people around are in understanding and agreement with your decision. probably peaceful and not really painful, too (although I haven't done enough research just yet). I really wish it was cheaper and more accessible, but we can only dream, at least where I live.
