No, I only want to end my suffering, other people should be able to decide if they want to live or die. I do not want to destroy the world, I just want to be gone from it.

You're right there. I wish it was possibleBecause I'd be eliminating their constant craving which is the root of all suffering
Too bad more births will happen and more predators and abusers will arise. Imperfect parenting = imperfect people. And sometimes it isn't even the parents fault. Predators will always occur as long as humans occur. It's quite chilling.I would want to erase the scumbags, predators and abusers. I could rest peacefully knowing that the good people in this world didn't have to suffer.
"Destroy" makes it sound like your hypothetical contains bombs or something.I would.
Good are few, finding a saint is almost impossible. How many people are there that nobody has a bad opinion or a grudge against? Like few percent maybe.I would want to erase the scumbags, predators and abusers only. I could rest peacefully knowing that the good people in this world didn't have to suffer.
There are people being tortured right now. If you could stop that by pressing a button and peacefully allowing them to rest, would you still say it is not your place to do such a thing? No way,. Not my place to do such a thing.
You erase suffering but you also erase joy. To some you might me a hero and to some the devil. Which outweighs the other? This is an interesting philosophical question if the "destroy" connotation of OP is eliminated from the discussion. If we shift the focus to some magical peaceful simultaneous rest of all of humanity, then all suffering occuring at this very second is erased. Whoever pressed the button would quite literally be the greatest hero to ever exist on Earth.
Well it depends if you are a negative utilitarian or not. That's your view of the world which may or may not reflect the truth.
You erase suffering but you also erase joy. To some you might me a hero and to some the devil. Which outweighs the other?
I think there is a lot more joy than there is pain in this world. A person only realizes that once it's completely lost. Neither of us is responsible for all the suffering in this world or even the suffering of those around us so how could we end something we didn't have any saying in the start. The one who created this world would have the means and responsibility to do what he wants, not we. It's like saying; eat this chicken or I kill another one, to a vegan. I would feel horrible for the chicken getting killed of course but not partaking in this activity at all, I cleared my hands of action and consequences and was just an observer. Similar to pressing the button to end this world, how could I do that when I didn't create it in the first place and it doesn't belong to me.There are people being tortured right now. If you could stop that by pressing a button and peacefully allowing them to rest, would you still say it is not your place to do such a thing?

What are you basing this on?I think there is a lot more joy than there is pain in this world.
Most people do want to live, so that's why I'm saying that there is more incentive to live than to die, overall. One person's immense suffering is not the collective responsibility of others. It's kinda like saying; I can't go to the pool because of something, nobody else should, kinda. And those activities you mentioned are quite enjoyable but I agree, the potential for pain, misery, and suffering is way bigger and more immense than the pleasure part of the equation when it comes to life. Most people just haven't experienced it yet. What are you basing this on?
I am thoroughly convinced that no topic is more impossible to reach common ground on, after discussing this various times throughout my life.
It would have to start with a discussion of what you define as joy, followed by an introduction to the philosophical concept of the asymmetry of pleasure and suffering.
But it never goes anywhere, ever.
Is joy eating food to delay hunger? Taking a poo? Having sex? Watching your favourite movie?
Would you really withstand having your skin ripped off while you're alive to enjoy those things?
The idea is that there are people have their skinned ripped off as torture, and that would cease peacefully along with the joy aspects of life.
