Obviously his mother doesnt want to lose him, but i remember reading somwhere while researching about doctors and euthenasia that palliative care or prolonging someones life where there is little to no quality of life, at some point you're not treating the patient anymorez you're treating their family.

Not sure of your situation,
But if you have family or friends that may contact or visit you with it being your birthday i may suggest before or after a better alternative unless there is some sense of wanting to be found.

But this is all speculation. No one knows your situation better than yourself and its your decision. Just be concious of the posible outcomes if there is a chance you could be found/interrupted.
