Method Idea: industrial slamming machine

Tldr: Idea for industrial slamming machine (since someone said that all methods have been discussed, yet I can't find this one elsewhere on SaSu)

In an island without law.. two large steel blocks (few metres / several feet in all dimensions) are there, one on the ground, another quite high and on rails.

Person who wants to destroy themselves takes sleeping pills and falls asleep on the ground floor block, setting 1 hour timer for second block to drop (magnetic brake disabled?)

It will accelerate many levels and slam at the ground floor block, lift itself back up via rails, and water and detergent is sprayed thoroughly before the block dries and is ready for reuse.

(The steel has rust proof treatment, eg paint, doping, etc)

What are your thoughts on this?

Why? There are better/cheapier/safer/cleaner ways to let people die peacefully, there is no will to do that.

Yeah, I agree. I mean look at those suicide pods (apparently, it's called a Sarco pod) that were over the news. Seems a lot more peaceful and efficient (for all parties, including maintenance workers and whatnot) than violently being crushed.

I will think of this when going to bed tonight. For me, it sounds like fun, I would not bother with sleeping pills myself. It would require people to build it and maintain it. It might be difficult to find people to work on it. I imagine the maintenance people who live on the island, getting used to the regular BAM.... BAM.... BAM.... Maybe use robots. Imagine all the one-way tickets to this island. There's a movie or book idea here.

True, was thinking in case parts of the body perceive pain while unconscious

Hardly thought of workers maintaining the thing, tho no idea how it can be fully automated

I found an issue... the shock of slamming may wear out the mechanism

I've been heavily drunk/unconcious/had serious surgery in my life. People can stab you, cut you and you don't feel anything, it's incredible. Of course there can be damage, maybe it causes a lot of stress to you even if you don't feel/remember it, but there is no pain. That doesn't matter if you are gonig to die though.

Sarco pods sound awesome.

Definitely, the sleeping pills are optional and the machine won't know if the user actually took them, plus the timer is probably configurable, maybe it can be set from 10 seconds to 2 hours, tho if zero, pressing it and going under the machine in time would have to be timed quite carefully.

Also, I heard of the coaster somewhere, interesting idea

At first, I was skeptical. But thinking it over, I can see it clearly:

"Ok, guys, we just need to hide from Death long enough to figure out how to stop it. Good thing we're perfectly safe here on 'People-Smasher Island'!"

this doesn't include the timer, but I just had to make a script to animate the machine, this version has the rails go underground, idk how to animate the cleaning process tho

so true, the guillotine, or even a few sticks of TNT... would be easier than this machine.

A little inspect element here, and "Progress" becomes "Safety delay", and "8 CPUs" becomes "Industrial Slamming Machine" (ISM)

PS: If you used a flyswatter (especially slipper as flyswatter), you used a mini version of the ISM.

PS 2: I haven't (yet!) considered building this. Also, I got yet another "Idea" regarding the machine when waiting for folding@home, so posting this post.
