Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Where I live, it gets cold, but only freezes occasionally. From what I understand you need really, really cold temperatures to ctb, or you need to get into cold water which would speed up the process.

There is a lovely marshy area next to a lake I live near. I love seeing the huge amount of wildflowers in the spring, especially the wild yuccas and the pink ones that I don't know the name of. The water is muddy and shallow but I guess it could work. They find skeletons in that lake all the time anyways.

I've thought about taking a road trip to somewhere colder, maybe the Appalachians would be cold enough (I live in the U.S.). They certainly have a lot of clear streams and rivers, muddy lake water sounds kind of gross imo.

How cold do you need it to be for it to even be successful at all? I've heard that it is very unlikely to be successful, as there are reports of people being clinically 'dead' for long periods of time, buried in ice or snow, and then being revived. I don't think it would be fun to end up with missing fingers or toes or whatever.

I think that would have trouble doing other methods. The 'final step' (cutting, pulling a trigger, jumping, letting go, etc.) seems like it would be too difficult and my survival instincts would take over. But the cold? I love the cold! I look forward to cold weather. It's already something I appreciate. It would be easier if I could just spend my final moments with something I know, surrounded by dormant plants.

Maybe it hurts. I don't care if it does. If anything I deserve a painful death, And I would absolutely choose one if I thought I had the ability to pull that off. But I don't, and maybe hypothermia would be a good second option.

I'm kind of like the opposite of you, where I live it gets super cold in the winter. I've considered that option before, but I haven't gotten the courage to actually go through with it lol

Ive heard that hypotermia is best way to go when it once kicks in.
I've heard that too but my own experiences seem to contradict it. I worked construction in northern US 40 years ago during a "gap year". I still remembrer freezing my fingers, toes and ears. It hurt like hell and even now I could not imagine just walking out in the cold and simply laying down. Maybe once you get to the point where you feel "hot", but getting there would be painful. Now, adding alcohol to the mix would be a way to minimize the pain. Still, I keep thinking of Beck Weathers and I would rather do a "warmer" method.

Oh, and hypothermia can occur above freezing so extreme cold is not necessary. To "freeze", you do need below 0/32 temps.
