• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

She almost always never uses her logic and asks others for directions. Something as simple as opening a can or sachet. She never tries to do anything that's seems difficult to her by herself.
We are having this festival called Diwali. She wants to wish all her friends and relatives on WhatsApp . She is now asking me what to wish, how to wish, what words to use, the sequence of words. She is an educated person but needs guidance for something as simple as that .
There was a time when I was like this and it really makes me extremely uncomfortable.

This sounds extremely frustrating. Who knows if your mother has a diagnoses or just a long held coping style.

It's interesting you said you were at one time like this...but notice you changed. Congratulations on however you did that.

I used ai to get tips on how to interact with people with dependency. I'm not sure if you were looking for any or if they are helpful at all...but for what it's worth.

What you can do

  • Encourage her gently to try small tasks on her own; praise effort, not results.
  • Avoid doing everything for her — help her feel capable, not helpless.
  • If this pattern makes her life difficult or frustrates those around her, suggest she speak with a therapist or counselor.
A professional can help her build confidence, assertiveness, and problem-solving skills.
