Hey! This is part 2. This may not be as emotional as part 1 (for me), but still showcases what the disabilitys can be if you decide to ctb! Since some people were interested and I also received private messages about everything else that happened to me as a nurse, here's another vent :p
I already mentioned in my last post that I worked on a neurological station in 2023/2024.
An elderly man with a drinking problem lay down on the street in broad daylight. He was hit by a car and suffered severe head injuries and others.
It wasn't the first time he had tried to ctb this way.
Before I continue writing, I'd like to say something else... I completely understand if someone wants to kill themselves. (Same) But I'm strongly against strangers getting involved... (when its not their job like paramedic or smth)
No matter what your outlook on ctb is... I always think of the traumatized train driver. He didn't do anything to anyone and doesn't deserve this kind of trauma – just like in my case now, it happened to a mother and a 5-year-old child.
After his stay in the ICU, he came to us. He was no longer able to speak, eat, talk, move or breathe properly on his own but was concious. Therefore, he was given a tracheostomy tube.
We had to take care of him full-time.
In the end, I didn't have a connection to him like I did with the girl from the first part. I just thought at the time, because I was also suicidal, that I would never try to kill myself that way...
In the end, the nurses and doctors let him die, partly because he was too busy to be taken care of.
They SLOWLY cut his supplies down and let him die (in pain prbly.)
If you consider getting hit by car, please reconsider.
