  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Could it be enough to instantly kill somebody or would it most likely lead to the person being knocked out and them to drown? Or is it not even high enough for the latter?

odds are in your favour, but given people survive jumping off the golden gate in sf nothing is guaranteed

Landing flat and not feet , increases chances. Distance from shore, temperature of the water, speed and depth of the water. Witnesses and folks patrolling the area

Melbourne's West Gate Bridge is 58m above the water and a few people survived jumping, while some drowned afterwards.

It's too risky, you might rupture your spleen or something. People have survived much higher jumps.

I think an instant death is unlikely especially if you're on the younger side. You might end up trying to swim to safety or be too injured to swim and drown.

This is juuuust at the level where it's almost guaranteed to be lethal, by my research. That being said, you're also likely not to die instantly - for that you'd want something over 200 feet, ideally over 220.
