Well, it may seem like that, but advancement is occurring albeit not at a rate it could be. There are plenty of labs innovating and coming out with new findings. It's a slow process, but researchers are doing it at an unprecedented rate. The fruits of current focus on AI and robotics will be seen in removing many of the mid-level jobs held as machines take over art, medical procedures, coding, and various other labor in upcoming years. You already are familiar with AI and how it makes art. Now that will then be applied professionally soon.

Indeed, machines are way more advanced than us, after all we are still very primitive monkeys. However, one problem that I see is that, for example, AI language models are programmed and trained by humans, which means that they won't recognize that certain beliefs or behaviors (such as the act of reproducing) are wrong, as most people (including the AI programmers) behave that way or they believe that it's acceptable for others to behave that way.
