Discussion how're ropes sold where you live?

after figuring the only rope in our basement is an old-weak one i decided to check the prices for dureable ropes in my area, i went to 2 stores one of them sells in Kilos i was expecting that they sell it in meters i felt heavily disappointed because it's far more expensive this way and i am a pennyless NEET without any source of income at all, the other store sells them in bulks, all this happened weeks ago BTW hence i wanted to ask you how the ropes are sold in your area by meters? or kilos? or is it mixed depending on the store?

another thing is that purchasing a kilogram's rope would be tricky even if i have the money because it will be hard to hide all that thing in our house, my original plan was just to purchase a 4 meters rope and use it for full suspension hanging, sorry for the stupid question.

I'm in U.S. so generally by the foot. I've never heard of it being sold by weight. It also comes prepackaged depending on type. Perhaps Amazon or ebay would be better for you since they probably sell by length.

Same here. US. By the foot mostly, but I have heard of rope being sold by weight, but I think that was mostly heavier, very large diameter rope. A lot of rope I see comes already packaged in specific lengths. Some stores sell off a roll and will cut and sell you whatever length you want.
