How to minimize them thinking it’s a homicide?

I never talk to anyone about how I feel. No one knows I'm currently depressed and suicidal.

Even if they walk into the scene and it's blatantly a suicide with minimal-zero room for doubt, they're obligated to perform an investigation, it's just how the process works. (Someone posted a pretty informative thread about this at one point, if I can find it I'll share).

If you're concerned about invasion of privacy then I'd get rid of anything personal at least a month before CTBing, and factory reset your devices at least a month before too. You'd think a factory reset would eliminate their ability to find stuff, it won't, but time and new data being written over previous data certainly will.

I know but I also want to help them, so they don't have to do a deep investigation I guess… their going to look at my phone and stuff and realize I have 0 friends, it's kind of embarrassing.

No matter what, the investigation will be done regardless. Things that make it easier are notes explaining the who, what, where, when, how's of what happened and just not trying to hide stuff. So many people are embarrassed about what someone may find after the fact but really, its not a big deal. If it were me looking at your stuff afterward, the no friends thing would make me feel sad for you. While I joked around a lot in my thread, its really a sad and serious affair overall. It sucks to go through someone's life and see what led to them doing what they did. Especially when you see how similar you are to them.
Also, I love your avatar......that's probably my favorite movie.

I understand that. If it makes you feel better, at least you wouldnt have to see reactions or have to explain anything. My life is all over YouTube, and tik tok and so many other places and it sucks having the world as a whole in your business. Your family may never see anything though. Its not like we gave families full write ups or anything. If they wanted pretty much anything other than "its a suicide", they had to ask for it. Had a family who didn't care about anything other than which parent got his wallet, which we had in evidence. Another family refused anything at all and never requested any propert we took or even a basic copy of the report. People behave weird so you never know what they'll do when it comes to some of that stuff.

Well you can no longer say you have no friends because anyone who likes Shawshank is a friend of mine. I loved the novella because it explained details I never knew and really tied the entire movie together for me. My favorite parts are when they are re-tarring the roof because I now know inmates "having accidents" is super real and the end when the warden shoots himself and the comment about the last thing that went through his head(other than that bullet). Makes me laugh because that's the dark shit I would say.

And what if bad things happened to me, things that would make them very sad and feel guilty if they knew, but it's completely unnecessary for them to know. Would the cop still tell them?
