hello everyone!
(bear with me if I make any mistakes in English, it is not my mother tongue.)

I am planning to commit sometimes in the next couple of months to a year (a long time, haha, but I am not in rush), and I worry about how to make it more digestible and less traumatizing for my friends and family.

I don't have many friends, I am not very close with my family and I will certainly break up with my girlfriend before I do it. really I worry only about my parents (especially since I'm still living with them), I'm sure they'll get over it quickly, but I want to make it easiest.

What do you guys think is the best way to prepare for suicide? for example - my belongings, should I get rid of them in advance? or would they prefer to keep them? should I sell any valuables I have and leave them the money, or should I let them decide? what to do with electronics? should I just factory reset everything? or should I sell it? (I'm worried they'll go through it). what about a suicide letter? what should I write in it to make my death easy to deal with (I don't want the letter to be heavy or sad, I would prefer it to be light-hearted)?
what about other things I forgot?
I am very curious to hear especially from individuals who attempted before, how did your family react? what do you think would have made it easier for them? what mistakes did you make?

I want my death to be clean, and remove every trace possible of my existence before I go, do you guys think its possible? what should I do to make it as if I never existed in the first place (or the closest possible equivalent)?

I am really interested to get some advice and hear what other people have to say! ^_^
Thank you in advance!

I think the most important thing is estate planning: going through probate is a PITA.

i think it's hard, because no person goes through grief in the exact same way, so you don't know how they'll react or how they'll process it or what will make it easier or harder… it's a mess. suicide especially is a very sad matter to most people, so there's that too.

i'm in the same boat, i want to ease the blow, but it's hard trying to figure out how to.

personally, i just think of what i would want if i was on the receiving end of the grief. selfish of me i suppose but it makes it easier

would i want a note from the person? well, of course, so i'll write one just in case. belongings? giving gifts post mortem is always nice, i guess. a clean room is never a bad thing.

wish u the best đź«‚

Making it look accidental can reduce the hardship felt by your family, and leave them withouts any suspicions. I truly hope you're able to find peace and relief from this suffering.

You care too much for the people you are going to cause immense harm. Better not to too think too much about it, just leave a note.

how without password? if they try to reset it to factory, then everything is atuomatically deleted.

Thank you, you are probably correct, I am asking mostly because I struggle putting myself in the shoes of others and cannot trust my own judgment in such matters :( I wish you the best as well.

What do you think is the best way to make it look accidental while ensuring I don't survive?

What do you think is best to say in a note like that?

Well, my bestfriend CTB on 2018 and it was really hard to not know why she did it. She wasn't depressed or anything - she really wasn't, we talked to a psychologist who she had a couple sessions with, for job guidance. She left a letter, but didn't explain her reasons, so, I think the letter you leave should explain your reasons, and tell people it's your choice and not their fault.

That's whats I did. I tried to make it look like an accident, but it's not so easy, so I decided to do it, but it didn't work. Now I am figuring out another way to do it.
