Unfortunately, though you're right. People take natural death far easier than suicide. Why, alludes me. I'd feel more comfortable knowing somone who's miserable offing themselves voluntarily, rather than someone who's full of joy expecting their first child getting hit by a bus or destroyed by cancer. Overall though, I don't think you should punish yourself for things you probably had no control over.

I think you just partly answered why most people think their relatives and friends would be able to go on with their lifes way better knowing that they had no control over your death. If you died by suicide, everybody you know would ask themselves if there was something they could have done, that would have saved your life. As ridiculous as it may seem, I think even people who were not that close to you will think:"Maybe I should have reached out to him. If I had done ... he would still be here."
But by letting it look like an accident, people will know that they really had no chance of saving you and they therefore had no control. They will be able to go on with their lifes at some point.
