Help How should I go about acquiring a PAL (Firearm license) in canada?

I'm thinking of going the long route and applying for a PAL so I can die via shotgun to the head, but I have some concerns about applying.
I don't have any convictions of any kind, nor do I have suicide attempts, but I do have history of going to the ER for mental health concerns and anxiety, and I have told my psychiatrist that I feel suicidal often. I am diagnosed with GAD and PDD.

I'm worried that this will get me denied. I'm considering lying on the application and saying that I don't have history of these things as I heard they only look deeper if red flags come up. I have friends that I've known for more than 3 years now that can be my references, and they don't consider me suicidal in the slightest, so I don't think they would trigger a deeper look. Then again, if I am caught, 2 years in jail, $5000 fine. Something like that.

Any thoughts on the matter?

I know it's probably not the answer you are wanting to hear, but personally I wouldn't take this risk... I wouldn't lie on your application, especially if this is going to risk you ending up in prison for it and/or fined.

More than anything I wish we didn't have to resort to such scary and extreme measures just to leave this world. I wish VAD was legalised. I wish we all had the right to a graceful, peaceful exit whenever we want and for any reason.

I've done some more digging and its a hit or miss for my case. They may ask for a doctor to sign off on my application or they might not. Some people with my exact diagnosis' have had their application approved without needing a doctors note at all. It helps that I have zero attempts under my belt, no involuntary admissions, and technically I have never actually threated to kill myself. I have only said that I thought about it but was not interested in attempting (not interested because I don't have access to a likely successful method but I literally will just not mention that lol).

Best I can do is try and apply, see where it goes.

Do you have a car? To be honest you could just drive on down to Texas and go to a gun show and buy a gun there.

Even if you have them, it takes a lot of resolve or a very bad emotional moment to actually use the gun.
I've had a gun for six years now and haven't ever even pointed it at myself in all that time despite going through some rough patches.

If having a shotgun loaded and ready at your side any given moment isn't the easiest way to end your life, I don't know what is.

Even if I decide not to ever pull the trigger, I will still have the comfort that I could painlessly end my life whenever I want, and that actually could make me want to live longer. Having no accessible method will only make me desperate and do it when I'm not ready, I'd argue that not having a gun will kill me sooner, and undoubtedly in a much more excruciating way.

There are many issues with that method. Firstly, even if you are able to make it to a gun show to do the legal loophole of getting a gun without a license, the people there will not sell it to you without ID, and they will not sell it to you if you don't live there. Secondly, would they not just confiscate the weapon at the border once I try to bring it back? The reason I want a gun is so I will be able to kill myself easily in the comfort of my own home.

If they're doing it legally, then yes ofc.
