Help Did I choose the wrong path?

Sorry if I shared too many files I just wanted to show most of my recent work, I've used art as a way to distract myself from suicide, it worked all through highschool but now that I'm an adult I don't know what I should do with my life and I'm very behind. I work at a crappy retail job which has been speeding me towards just killing myself to get out of the rat race but the only thing keeping me here is seeing my art grow. I've considered just going towards the trade route as a electrician or interior painter, I have no experience with either so it seemed unrealistic I also thought into remote jobs which I'm most likely going to do but even then I'm still not sure if I'd feel happy doing that.

The sword models I made were commissions and while they weren't anything high (I'm still a beginner) I felt proud and accomplished making them. I'd like to take a profession in 3d art, maybe as a freelancer or for a company but I can tell it's looked down upon, even my parents who support my decisions I can tell they don't think it's anything serious just a hobby to do in my past time.

While I won't be able to escape the rat race at any point in life at least I'd be happy following my passions. Is this something that's worth pursuing especially in this economy or are there any other jobs that I'd benefit from?

Trade jobs dont require experience. You can go to trade school to learn the trade or get an apprenticeship if you find one. You get paid as you learn on the job under someone. That is the path that I am looking to take. I want to be an electrician. A lot of the trades can have toxic environments so just know that before you ever decide.

Also, I love your art, did you ever try to apply to a company that needs 3D artists? I dont see why it would be looked down upon. It would be better than working at a job that you hate.

I never applied for a company yet I felt like I needed more practice in other areas so I don't have to be confused if I'm asked to do something unrelated

Great art; my favorite is the lantern. Going into the trades is a totally viable option that doesn't require prior experience. I've known two plumbers, two mechanics, and a welder. The plumbers made the most money. The welder struggled a bit until he found a niche designing and assembling custom stage equipment.

If you think so, then try looking for a job that fits your current skills. Do research on the company and see if you can do what they need of you. I dont see why you cant make it. Honestly your art is amazing. Youre definitely experienced in that area.

I'm not exactly sure how intellectually demanding being an electrician is, though it does look fairly rigorous to me as a total outsider.

My limited understanding is that welding and carpentry aren't necessarily that lucrative on their own, but since you have a creative streak either could open the door to opportunities that might be really fulfilling for you.

I do like that idea thank you I think it's worth a try as well
