I'm researching methods and since it sounds like SN is near impossible to source in the US, I'm thinking about other ways. I'm considering hanging/night night method but that's kind of a last resort due to not wanting anyone to find my body like that. I know I'll be gone by then, but knowing someone will find my body in that state and potentially traumatize them makes me feel sick. At least with ODing you just look like you're asleep. I just worry about being able to source the stuff needed for that.

I've thought about traveling to the ocean and carrying a heavy backpack or something to weigh me down, and just swim out as far as I can. I would drink until I'm intoxicated or take benzos. I'm just wondering if there's still pain involved while drowning, if you'd panic even if you were highly intoxicated/sedated. Even though I do genuinely want to die, I think I'm too much of a weenie to carry something out if I thought it would be really painful/panic inducing :ahhha: that's why I could never jump lol.

What are your thoughts? Is drowning a way you'd want to go?

I don't think it's possible to go through with it since running out of oxygen is very uncomfortable. As long as you are able to stop, you will.

I was wondering about that since I'm able to swim, but thought maybe with the pull of the tide... idk. Also thought maybe it'd be kind of a romantic way to go, as dumb as that sounds lol. Probably not though realistically

Nothing calms me like the sound of water, I get you. Long time ago I wanted to drown but I underestimated the discomfort.

In an old game I love this was written on protagonists tombstone in parallel world:
,
~ R.I.P. ~ Our beloved Serge ~

~ Nobody can take anything away from him.~

~Nor can anyone give
anything to him.~

~What came from the sea, has returned to the sea.~

Have you looked into the shallow water method?

It's drowning without pain if done correctly

I think it's possible, as long as you force yourself to swim until you're exhausted and then you should be far enough out that SI couldn't get you back. But you could get dumped back on the shore by the tide or dragged under without having to do much. The sea is crazy powerful and seems unpredictable.

I'm sure there'd be panic as long as you're conscious and it's supposed to feel very painful for a while. There are lots of descriptions because people drown and get revived a bunch. Basically it's described as the worst 15 seconds of your life, and then total calm at the end as you start to lose consciousness. It's not great, but I still sometimes consider it because I struggle to think of a method that I could do and not risk surviving horribly damaged.

I've almost drowned when I was a kid (imagine I almost escaped lol) and it was extremely uncomfortable and painful in a way I would say. Also made me panic a lot. Wouldn't really consider it myself but to each their own.

Chrono cross. Jrpg from ps1. There is a remastered version on all platforms now, it still holds kinda and ost is godlike. When I was into accoustic guitar I played some of it myself.

I almost drowned as a child, it made me extremely panic and SI kicked in full force, I managed to swim against the tide from deep water to the shore in just a minute. I imagine it's probably fairly painful as well as slow.
You can go to the ocean and walk in, try to get a feel for it first without commiting to a plan and with the possibility to walk out if you desire, so you don't regret and experience pain.

I just did, if I'm correct it seems like you make yourself hyperventilate until you pass out in a shallow area of water (like a bathtub)? That seems like it wouldn't be bad at all, although I'm not super confident in my ability to make myself pass out. Maybe if I had some practice and was sure I could do it.

Maybe getting buzzed/taking benzos, and then making myself pass out in a hot tub until I ultimately drown wouldn't be too bad. I'll need to look into it more for sure

Yeah, now that I'm thinking about it that might not be the way to go - too unpredictable. I definitely wouldn't want there a chance of me being found and survive with brain damage.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm definitely reconsidering

I'm sorry that happened to you - that sounds terrifying. Yeah I'd definitely need to get a feel for it first before deciding whether I wanted to go that route, unfortunately I live in the midwest so I don't have the opportunity to experiment much

Like an 8/10, painful up until you black out then its game over I personally think it's an underrated method to CTB. You are trading pain at the beginning for much higher death rate so you won't mess up as much.
