I think the range is pretty large. I have ordered SN in March. I was two times acute suicidal since. But I could imagine to finally take it in October before college re-starts. The range would be 7 months. I am really not sure. Some order it and never take it. These people would not count. But some people take it shortly after receiving it.

Maybe this question is unnecessary.

I had my first SN in October 2022.
Currently I can CTB at any time.
If only it were that simple...

I'm gonna really mess with the average if my case is ever counted in the results. I bought my SN in November 2020 and still have yet to take itā€¦..

Some people get it as a security blanket of sorts Sits around for years sometimes. A handful of people are serious and take it. Some people just like knowing they have a way out if it ever comes to that. šŸ™

I don't know I think it would be wrong keeping that sort of statistics or knowledge what users do with their SN. It's a pro-choice forum not a death factory regardless what some pro death users here tries to push. I wouldn't want anyone to feel shame or rushed because they're behind on the "curve". If users wish to have a convenient way to exit even if the event never occurs they should be without bother. It just feel wrong to me.

Second reason is of course not to provide ammunition to the pro-lifers scouring the forum, like the mom who's son used SN and "supposedly wanted the forum down".

This was not my intention but you could be right. I was just curious whether my SN behavior is normal. I talked with another user in private about it. First SN made me pretty suicidal. But now I feel more comfortable with it as home. I feel more calm.

But I am really not sure. This relationship might develop.

Nothing wrong being curious, I am to to a small degree. But is it worth it to satisfy our morbid curiosity? I am currently looking at my nitrogen setup since it placed in the living room were I spend many hours of the day, knowing I can exit and ctb within 15 min from now does help to normalize it.

I think a lot of people (like me) could see that the writing was on the wall with regards to the ongoing availability of SN. So, I suspect many people stocked up on it without a fixed date in mind. Just to have it as a possibility if needed. Of course, the expiry date is troubling. But yeah, I think it's something people could buy to use immediately or, store for a later date.

I ordered mine this year and have been sitting on it. Considering the shelf life of SN, I've been using that as a cushion to figure things out regarding cbt'ing and seeing if I can complete my SN kit. If I really do go through with it (which I have heavily considered several times), I'd like it to be as peaceful as possible.

It will remain for the expiry date as long as it is in the required storage conditions.

What is the shelf life of SN? I have ordered some but how long can you hold onto that before it goes bad? And what does expired SN mean? It just won't work anymore or becomes less potent?

In general, if left unopened and no-contact with the air, it generally has a shelf-life of 2-3 years. So, you have plenty of time to use it between date of purchase and date of use. More or less, expired SN loses its potency and may lead to a cbt failure. Thus, no matter when you got it versus when you use it, always test it first via strip tests and blood test.

Hmm good to know. I'll keep that in mind.

I hope your life never gets bad enough that you have no choice but to take it
I think it will, my parents want to move and they're going to sell all their properties so I'll have to go with them and loose everything, theres not much keeping me going, tbh I dont have much in my life and they're going to take it from me

I appreciate the kind words, I hope so too but I think that is a pipe dream atm

Do you happen to have a source for the US? I'm having such a hard time finding one.

I think a lot of people just have it at home for some relief. Not many people will actually use their SN ironically, most will use something quicker in the moment they are ready.

I had KCN for about 5 years, pentobarbital for about 3 years and h2s for about 5 years. Got rid of them all reluctantly because having them around started to cause more stress than they took away.
