My friend recently made comment how I would be missed "in game as in real life" while we were gaming. While this might sound like he is in know it sounded pretty natural in the flow of the conversation as I had just made some comment about my characters death, but it got me thinking.

How much do you think people in your life (you haven't told) know of your suicidal intentions? Do you think such thing can be sensed easily? I am off two minds since I seen both people make accurate leaps of logic based on one gesture, and completely miss blatant signs.

A lot of people around me, especially older, religious folk, are completely oblivious, I believe. For them the notion of wanting to take your own life is so wild and taboo, they're told you're not allowed of even contemplating on that. Many other people also don't know, because being depressed and suicidal are not always linked in general consciousness, at least here. Depression is seen as temporary, or likened to laziness, so people don't think too much about it, especially if they never had it before. Even if I'm visibly distraught, it still isn't raising any flags. I'm kind of comfortable like that, honestly.

Very informative post, you perfectly vocalized my views. I feel in some twisted way its better for both us and them to treat it like that.

i've had some serious attempts before and had to be hospitalised but not for years now bu I still don't think anyone would be shocked to hear about my death especially since I have BPD. I get told often how strong of an individual I am and that I'm so brave. I think they expected me to be dead by now even my drug dealer was concerned yesterday when I said I wanted his drugs to take me to heaven and be in peace he was like 'no don't say that' looking at me with so much sadness like dude just give me my drugsss xD

For me, no one suspects it's this bad. Many know I'm troubled and super quiet instead of energetic and talkative. Suicide just doesn't enter the equation for most people.

i have to be careful not let any human or ai know i want to and need to kill myself soon.

a human or ai could report me to the police and so they'll put me into a mental hospital . that would be the worst thing for several reasons.

I don't think anyone has an idea. Maybe depression's a suspicion? I joke around about how hopeless and torturous everything is, but because I say it in a certain tone, everyone ignores me. It's kinda like a curse and a blessing, because I'll forever be a ghost unless I say something everybody wants to hear and being "helped" wouldn't be that good.

Sadly I do think some people might suspect something, which makes me feel guilty because if they know it could happen then they'll have all the more reason to end up blaming themselves. But I suppose the fact that people close to me knew about my struggles is a sign I tried to make this life work (or maybe just a sign that I was desperate for attention, hard to say).
