Discussion How many CTB attempts do you have? What methods were they?

Two half assed cry for help attempts one with lexapro and I think topamax then just some otc pill cocktail? And then another with trazodone.

I knew the doses weren't enough to be fatal but I knew I needed professional inpatient treatment and was hoping that attempting would be enough to show my family I needed it. They ended up just locking me in my room

I was young at the time, I don't think I really knew how to properly hang myself. From what I remember I wasn't doing it properly so I was just constricting my airways until I ran out of oxygen. Didn't work.

Thank you for responding, I appreciate it. I'm not younger but I'm not technically inclined at all, it's embarrassing how lacking I am in skills, so I worry that even though I think I know how to properly do it, I don't and will fail being left in an even worse situation than I've been during these past several years. If you constricted airways and ran out of oxygen how did you survive? I thought if you do that you die? Did you try full or partial?

One. Bottle of Wellbutrin. Didn't work for obvious reasons

I'm curious to know what the effects you had were, if I may ask... I've accidentally OD'd and landed in the ER.

This is embarrassing for me, but five years ago when I was 14, I tried to overdose on ibuprofen and took 40 pills. Needless to say, I survived (however I did vomit for almost 2 days straight). Then I tried to hang myself which I chickened out off, cutting,… that's all I can remember right now.

Zero but I am hoping that my first one would do the job.I have really done a lot of research to make it a success.

Three or four (cant remember right).
Overdose on different meds combined with alcohol.

No real attempts but I'm planning my method and it's ready so it has to be a success in any case. When it comes to CTB there is only one chance and it has to be a success no other outcome is acceptable here.

well mostly just it was too painful/uncomfortable so i managed to maneuver my stool back up in a panic. i couldnt go through with it because of the sensation even after multiple tries

I have had 4 "main" attempts I would say.

One when I was 14. I overdosed on my ADD medication because life sucked. I wasn't successful because there was absolutely no way I could have been successful.

One when I was 19. I tried to overdose again because the guy I currently live with did the nasty with another girl while I was in the room

One when I was 23. I tried to hang myself (partial) in a cemetery but just couldn't get it right.

And then one just about a week ago with SN. I failed because I wasn't careful on picking my location and was found before I drank the stuff.

4 recent (about 5 months ago) attempts at partial hanging what I would call a determined effort
When I was younger I tried drinking bleach, I only drank a small amount, I didn't know at the time but I thought it would kill me as your just told as a kid "don't drink that it's deadly" didn't even give me the slightest stomach ache.

So maybe 5 in total I guess
