How do I tie the rope securely?

I've decided to hang myself in a hotel room. I was thinking of using duct tape to secure the rope to the doorknob or towel rack. Would that hold? I know i'll end up flailing after I'm unconscious.

Also do I kneel or sit down after putting my head through the rope hole?

Should I book 2 nights or one?

If you are serious about wanting to do this please do a lot more research otherwise you are going to end up injuring yourself which could make life even worse for you than it is now.
For example:

He hanged himself on the Saturday and was not found until Tuesday.

If i had to give you any advise it would be please only book the hotel room for the night as makes me sad a fellow human being hanging for days, also it could traumatize you're family even more.

My mental health deteriorating is my main reason though.
