How did you first hear about / find your way to SanctionedSuicide? (2nd poll)

Tentacrul! Before, I guess when the persona of "Archness" was first birthed, with me writing my true and honest feelings. I felt that suicide wouldn't be that bad, considering alternatives, possibilities, where my life would likely go, where the rest of the world is heading, etc etc. I've herd about this forum and knew
A) To expect slander against a place like this.
B) The video itself is slander, I should investigate myself.

Then I lurked, could immediately understand it, and registered. Been roughly a year since I registered, I don't see myself leaving anytime soon, apart from death/ctb.

It was google for me when I typed in about looking for ways that would actually be successful.
In all honesty though, the BBC ironically reminded me of this safe space.

I said it on the first poll, but I'm incredibly grateful for Tantacrul's video and YouTube for pushing it in the algorithm. It had the exact opposite effect of what he intended on me, leading to me finding a community I've been looking for for so long.

I saw a report of a police operation in my country where they arrested a group that helped people commit suicide after two girls died. In the report there were prints of the conversations between the accused and the people talking about a certain SN and about the SS.
I had never heard of the method with the SN, after this report it was easy to find the SS and about the method.
Thank you press for the "oversight".

It's because of the Tantacrul's video, I was listening music when I found it in my recommendations, and finding S-S was pretty easy.
I always hoped to find such a website and ressources, and he served it to me on a silver platter.

I scrolled through the internet looking for suicide advice and after digging and digging i finally was found this site. It was the hope i was looking for in finding a way to do it quickly/easily and the only place with people who had helpful information on suicide, the rest were literally just stupid help site that all the the same things. 'Drink water, eat, hope for a better life, go the people who care' but what about the people who have literally no one… anyways glad i found here.

I watched a video called ''the worst sites on the internet'' and then the YouTuber mentioned SS, but at the time the domain was within the Tor network and my English was very bad at the time but I really wanted to join because I I had been wanting to die for years, some time passed and I was determined to kill myself and so I looked for the SS and now he was on the surface so I created an account and I had never had an experience like this... talking openly about it, planned, no be judged, be understood, even if this site dies, one day another will be born in its place, just as there have been similar sites since the beginning of the internet

I wanted to search for methods and just see if there was any discussion going on, so I downloaded the DuckDuckGo browser to do my searches. I don't know what term specifically gave this site as a result and I might have even not clicked on it for a few searches if it kept coming up, but eventually I did.

Edit to add: I already knew of most methods, so I'm not using the site for learning like the BBC would like everyone to believe, I wanted just some finer details and I was hoping to see data on success rates for each method somewhere.

I saw tantacurls video. I saw it as a sign from god or something to kill myself that this man would allow people people so see a place where the could be free. I never finished the video I searched the website and found it within a few minutes and found my new home.

Honestly if it wasn't for tantacurl I wouldn't have known this place existed

I wonder if he realize the impact of what he did by choosing to release a video on the website.

I legit just found SS a few hours ago! From Tantacrul's video. At first I had a weird vibe from it, because that is what they want you to feel, but then looked it up and found out what SS is all about. Just a place for us depressed, suicidal individuals to go to have a safe space. To eventually find peace in some way, even if it leads to CTB. It's just that society will never understand since if you're not mentally ill, you just don't get it! So I decided to make an account, because I need that safe space. :) Hey y'all!

I lurked a bit but never created an account. Then a few days ago someone else mentioned the most recent BBC article and I took a look, found my way back here, and finally created an account.

As alot of people here, i found this site because of a youtube video (probably Tantacrul's but i'm not sure ?). Kinda ironic when he said that for "obvious and safety reasons" he would not mention the name of the site in the video but still managed to quote words for words the community guidelines.. anyone would just copy-paste it on google and see SaSu and all its mirror sites popping up in first results. All thanks to him

i found tentacrul's video on my feed, found it very interesting cuz i never found trust worthy methods before so i gave it a try and ended up joining to this forum even tho i don't usually post or anything i just read methods or stories from other people that are going trough similar situations as me . I find kind of ironic that a video made to stop this forum ended up making more people finding this forum

The 1st edition of this poll was posted a little over half a year ago. Given that the site is currently getting a lot of attention due to the recent BBC article, it was thought that a new poll would be more representative of recent and current members.

Before coming to this forum, I studied methods for a long time and probably one of the links brought me here. I read about a poisonous flower that grows in the mountains near my city. Luckily I found this forum and learned about SN - I hope my bus ride will be painless with SN. My first attempt with digoxin a few years ago was very painful and did some damage to my heart.
