How did you discover SanctionedSuicide?

How did you discover it from the very beginning? And how'd you find it?

I've discovered SanctionedSuicide when it was on Reddit mostly and almost in the very beginning. I didn't make a reddit account or anything, I was a long time lurker. I do remember a various of popular old users from Reddit, and even some who have passed away.

I found it through a simple google search. I lurked for a while and eventually joined. I've been a part of communities like this since the internet started. I will say this is the best one I've ever found.

I read someone mentioning it on reddit, then a quick google search pointed me towards the website, and after a month of lurking I decided to create an account.

I had to do a LOT of research/ googling before I found it. As a journalist, I consider myself a good researcher, but I had to use other terms than the obvious. Using "suicide" in a search was meaningless. I was just send to different norwegian help lines. I thank myself and you guys for being alive, so this site has meant the world to me.

I was searching for information on the inert gas method, and found this site. I kept coming back to it, and reading the threads. At some point I came to the conclusion that the exit bag wasn't for me but I found SS to be an interesting, comforting, and supportive community and eventually I signed up.

I was searching for methods on how to hang myself, it took me an unbearably long time of pain and suffering surfing through pro-lifers on any questions regarding hanging and suicide. They make my pain and wanting a peaceful way to exit like a mortal sin.

Suddenly a miracle happened, SS comes out on my search. Ironically, this site kept me alive and even makes me look towards living most of the time. It's like a heavy weight been lifted, knowing there's peaceful way out. Thank you SS

I was randomly looking up suicide / depression stuff a little over a year ago and found this and here I am!

I literally just searched up suicide forums because I wanted motivation to ctb. I had to go to maybe page three and then I found an article listing some, including SS. Turns out SS i better, even though they won't motivate you to ctb. The community is more warm and supportive than I ever thought possible. Plus I realized that the choice to ctb really has to come from you, not other people

I was looking for a way to leave this world by hanging myself, so i discovered this site and started exploring various threads.
in the end I decided to register because I feel very similar to many users here.

I was highly suicidal and didn't know what to do, just that I needed to let out some steam or I would explode in suicidal self-violence. I simply made a Google search, using the search words "suicide" + "forum", and here I am.

I was drawn to them as they are socially awkward females who struggled to find thier plac in the world like me and they are in my age group.

I found their stories , thier struggle comforting. Reading there lives before thier deaths i thought they were interesting women

I was curious about the methods they used and the resources the site gave them hence why i am here.

The site is nothing like the media told me. In fact i found this site so supportive and understanding

People on this site have listened to me more than the outside world ever did.

If i was helped to live , find my purpose i wouldnt be here. The outside world just told me i would be "fine" but they never saw how scared i really i am.

I intentionally tried to find a suicide forum and SS was the first one that popped up. The name itself I got from a Vice Article.

I was searching for different methods and their success rates and peacefulness. One of the threads popped up one day when I was looking up information about hanging I think. I lurked for a few months, then finally joined.

It's a pretty long story... From Reddit's Suicide Watch thread filled with pro life people to suicide sections on there that got closed, to random searches for sites like this on google... What I found was eventually this and by far is the best conclusion to what I was looking for.
I did lurk here, yes, eventually the last week before I joined I couldn't even look straight due to how the CTB feeling was suffocating me.
Eventually after joining, it has helped with a bit to calm those urges down, yet, my goals for suicide still remains. Things like that.

I was googling methods I think for hanging or cutting my neck and I came across NoLifeNoPains post on hanging. I lurked for a day and made an account.

The strange thing is I have found is that I have found this site being referenced in places where you wouldn't expect. Places that are unrelated to mental health. I have also looked up things different from suicide and found a post that has directed me to this site.
