While I was trying to do research on methods, I came across a news story about a subreddit that was banned for instructing people on this stuff. I figured that the subreddit would be a legit website. Lo and behold, here I am. I've been lurking for a bit and just made my profile.

Got banned from r/suicidewatch for sharing a dream I had about my parents wanting me to live.

Tried to look for other forums that actually allows open discussions about suicide and found the site from an article.

I never knew there were such forums until I read Every Cradle is a Grave, she mentions this now defunct one, so I googled a bit about it and found SaSu. I thought the "best" it gets are places like r/SuicideWatch, where you'll still get comments about how you shouldn't do it and whatnot. Didn't realise there are actual pro-choice spaces online

i watched a youtube video that discussed it, but of course they censored the exact name. i did just probably about a minute of searching based off the info he did include and i was able to find it.

i can't quite remember. i knew about it and browsed occasionally for years before i signed up. i think it becomes easy enough to find once you search certain topics related to mental health or end up on fringe websites. a little unrelated but the internet is really frustrating when it comes to topics of self harm and suicide. you get blanked out or modified searches and text telling you that you aren't alone or some nonsense. at least some of them show numbers for you to call. it feels lonely staring at a blank screen because you searched the wrong keywords.

*Checking my online history*

It was 23 days ago. I was googling "most painless ways to suicide". Read some articles, "Suicide is never painless" at artofbrilliance, "Searching online for methods of suicide" on econtent.hogrefe, then two articles on PBS and NY Times about SS. The name wasn't given, so I asked a chatbot about what this website NYT is talking about could be, and it gave me the name.

Pleasantly surprised to find how supportive and compassionate this place is. It truly is a pro-choice environment, not "pro-sucide", which the normies make it sound like.

lucky happenstance, basically. i came across tantacrul's video on sasu and being suicidal and all, got curious. at the time i was also looking for a good method so i got really lucky hehe!
I found it through that same video as well. If I recall he made sure not to mention the name so that no one would find it. But it was really easy to find nevertheless

Curious how y'all stumbled across SaSu

I made my account years ago so I literally can't remeber how I discovered SaSu

Forgot about my account for several years until very recently

Maybe it was through hearing stories of the subreddit? idk
Through a family member who used this forum. I wanted to feel closer to them since they ctb. My family would think it strange, but I've found it comforting in some ways. I've also had my own experiences with SI, so there's that.

Was looking for suicide methods and randomly stumbled onto the forum. Still haven't managed to do it, haven't even tried, will probably never manage to.
