I accepted that when I reached adulthood, when I realized that I had failed in many aspects that an average person (or rather average adult) has normally have going and succeeded at. This refers to having stable employment, having a social life, having a SO, and of course, being financially independent. As an adult in my mid 30's now, and having lived more than half my life as an adult, I've accepted that this is the result of my life as it is. I've only kept on mostly due to copes and just biding out my time as having failed in many areas in life, and still living under my parents' roof, but one day (perhaps sooner than later), I will end it all and finally no longer suffer. Once I have accepted that CTB is an option and always on the table, it has fundamentally changed how I view myself as a failure in life; while society, family, and my peers see it as tragedy, I see it as indifference to the result as I'll be dead one day sooner than later (most likely by my own hand).
I am exactly in the same position . My method is hypothermia , at sea, winter. Increasingly , I don't care about coldness. It's scary how a person gradually changes.

I didn't fail, life failed me. The adults in my life growing up failed me. It wasn't on me bro, I was a child. I was never going to get the life I wanted, I'm not capable of it due to trauma, but that trauma isn't my fault. These aren't my failures I'm carrying.

You two both sound like me exactly thirties though I'm now under my cousins roof because she didn't wanna see me on the street or with my abusive father. Feeling like a burden if anything.

I haven't decided to be born, so there is no obligation to "succeed" in something in life. I have goals, but they're just in my head. I think others have expectations in me, but I've isolated myself good enough I think so there are not many. And yes, I have a goal in life, but it hasn't been reached - but so what, someone else is going to have the same goal and they will probably succeed. The world will keep going, no matter if I'm alive or not.

And actually, now when I think about it, the tgought motivates me even further and supports my "self-image" as a loser that needs to be banished from the world as they aren't able to contribute. But I've accepted that I am this person.

They day i realised i never had the drive for anything, ever.
It was like some sort en enlightement. "Oh....i like nothing."
I didnt have the best childhood or such but it was not bad or anything.
I'm not really social and shit, i'd say a common aspect of a lot of users here, so when you go into adulthood and school "friends" dont appear anymore, you have a realisation.
Liking nothing, and being alone.
Time pass i guess.

I have accepted that I was set up to fail from birth. When you have parents whose only accomplishment was having children and nothing else, and who didn't value anything, then yeah, I was never going to succeed in life. When your parents see you as inferior, treat you like you're nothing, and sabotage and traumatize you throughout your childhood, how can a person not fail in life?
Then you have a society where only certain people are allowed to succeed, while those who don't fit the norm are left to perish. Everything was always stacked against me. The little optimism I had in my youth was that maybe I could grow up and make the world better, and my contributions would be positive rather than the negative ones that seem to plague the world. I don't think the world or humans want that. The evil of the world is given a voice, while the people who genuinely want to help are voiceless and shut out. My own voice was taken away from me from birth because of my speech disability, and I was never given a fair chance to be heard in this world. I have come to peace with the fact that I'm cursed and don't belong here, so I was never going to succeed anyway.

I'm admitting failure after fighting a battle I never gonna win. I become someone who had missed too many milestones that most people seem to reach without thinking, sense of direction, and confidence; a life that feels like it's moving forward. Although I admit, I'm no longer living with my parents and found the love of my life, I don't have much saving for the supposed future due to my own stupidity.

At this point, I stop believing my life was building toward something. CTB feels like the natural conclusion to my story that has lost its direction.
