How bad was bullying during your childhood?

The worst part about the bullying wasn't their actions, but how I was singled out and nobody stood up for me. Even the adults just watched. It makes me believe that all people are just innately evil. I was also bullied in a distinctly racist way, so there was no personal reason for it. Just people enjoying maliciousness.

It wasn't that bad things considered, nothing physical
in middle school i had a somewhat friend group and i was always the butt of the joke and got belittled, the whole thing is probably just school boys joshing to a lot of people but that was enough for me to trigger my first ideation
Every time i remembered it, it made me realize how introverted and awkward i was and the experience probably echoes through all my life

Pretty bad but not the worst I have heard of. In Pre-K, I was actually the bully. My temperament can be pretty sour, and I was more comfortable with aggression than I might otherwise have been after observing it in my father and older brother.

Once I developed empathy though, I started putting my aggression to use. I took up for the other kids midway through elementary. By that time, I had my own troubles that set me apart - namely, that I was a tomboy. My conservative and homophobic area did not take kindly to this. Not at all.

The worst part wasn't even the bullying itself but the complete and utter indifference most adults had toward it. I will never forget when a teacher told me to let it be like "water off a duck's back". I had just informed her that the class had ganged up on my friend on the playground and chanted that she should kill herself.

It took me many years not to treat all authority figures with automatic suspicion. I still to this day lack the faith most people seem to have in authority and even their common man. For all that people complain at work and about politics, they tend to assume that "things will work out" and that somebody somewhere will rise to the occasion if it doesn't. I feel like history is on my side more than theirs, but faith is something built from experience, not logic, and I had the right experience at the right time of my life for my worldview to be altered forever.

My life is so backwards. It's like Benjamin Button. Like I wasn't bullied at all really in my childhood. I can remember a few instances in my elementary school where I was bullied but that's like it. It was also fairly light.

Now that I'm in like late adulthood (I'll be 38 in September) i get bullied everyday. It's insane...you finally like become a legit older grown man and now I have to go through this shit? It's mostly like mental but it's still just trash to have to endure in old age. Like....I hate it. But this too shall pass and I will never ever go through this experience ever again.

I know I'll make it through it because I've come across some super positive influences. Yeah I guess lifes just kinda retarded like that. Take care everybody!

Well I was homeschooled a long time but even then I was still physically and mentally tormented and then getting pulled in and out of school during that time I was bullied physically in such an uncomfortable way by all my partners friends.

Nah bro it ain't good at all, take it from a loser who didnt learn her alphabet till grade 6 and always had to play alone and sit on a cement floor looking up to a window that was so much taller then me and out of reach, theres more to it than that but it was not a good experience,, I guess at least for me,, so technically I have a biased experience to some degree.

overall it was pretty minor especially considering how weird i am. which i'm really thankful for. reading some of these other stories is heartbreaking :( i'm so sorry you had to go through this.

Teachers and students bullied me for my medical condition (strabismus) and since I started secondary school I was bullied everyday and I was rlly quiet and didn't say anything people fought me every single day to the point where I got a 15 min early pass and every time I told a teacher and i needed a lot of courage to because of how embarrassing it is to talk about since I was so embarrassed of my condition and she didn't care and said it's not a big deal and she took away my early pass and they started fighting me again ,people followed me home and thrown eggs at my house ,leaked my address and started banging on the doors and throughout secondary i never had any friends everyone thought i was a freak cuz of my condition and i had to hide in the toilets at lunch n break and i only cried at home or when no one was around
It affected every thing I don't look at people and if I talk to them I shake and get really nervous because they notice it and I don't go out etc

I was bullied in all schools I went to. It was mostly subtle bullying; I was ostracized a lot. Even my so-called "friends" ostracized me a lot of the time. There were only 2 people that always targeted me with emotional bullying. One of them even bullied me in online games. I even got emotionally bullied by a teacher once. The emotional bullying still affected me a lot, and I still think about it. Luckily, I somehow never got bullied physically.
I still really hated going to school, and I wish I could have just dropped out, to be honest.

Bad. I was ostracised and gaslit ("she's not being bullied!"). Teachers joined in on it too, mocking and laughing at me.

Also sexual assault and physical assault (having chairs thrown at me)

Bad in elementary school, all mental. I was the quiet girl, so naturally teachers would place the "problem" kids with me, resulting in me being bullied and being too scared to say anything. When I got to middle school, it was all sexual harassment from some guys in my science class. High school it was just general social exclusion.
