Howdy!

This is just my thoughts, but everyone needs someone, case in point, as all the folks on SS help me stay alive/sane. We are all different, BUT in the same fashion we are all the same, and humans are social animals and being loved, cared about/for and having friends helps so much. For me, being able to hop on SS and say hi to someone across the country or across the world is so helpful for/to me. I am 67, reference point and having folks to talk to on SS makes my life come alive.

Just by asking and/or wondering about this issue shows just how kind, caring and loving of a person that you are.

Sending you lots of kind thoughts, huge hugs and the knowledge that you are a very important spirit with a huge loving heart.

Same with @whywere , I sometimes wish I were dead but knowing how it would affect others close to me in my life keep me here. For better or worse.

I guess it depends if they can always be there for you. That's where the 'danger' lies but I'm sure you already realise that. It depends I suppose. There is always a risk in this life that we may lose the ones we love/ depend on and may have to start fending for ourselves. That can break some people. Still- people may still think it's worth it- 'Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'- and all that.

I'm not sure myself really. I don't think it's ideal to depend on others so entirely myself but that's because- in my own experience, people simply aren't reliable! It seems safer to me to not trust anyone to that degree- fewer disappointments that way. Still- I'm sure that means missing out in life- when you don't allow those deep connections with people. I guess the ideal would be to love but to not be afraid to lose- something I don't think I could do.
