Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Interesting- because if he doesn't ctb and he is discovered and put in a hospital for a while we wouldn't know if this worked. I hope he finds peace somehow, but I would think that we would need at least a week or two without him reactivating his account, if you can do that, before we would be confident that he did ctb. There have been cases before recently where a person came back after a couple of weeks when everyone seemed to think they ctb. I guess we'll see.
If ever there was an example of how not to take SN then this must have been it. From my own perspective she just didn't seem clear what she wanted and for this reason I hope that she is alive and well, in addition getting the help she clearly needs

THIS. It's just so disrespectful to discuss these things on a post where the OP says they are killing themselves.
Seriously, ask yourselves what are the chances of someone actually faking this and why? (But not here!)
Losing faith in this community.
May you be at peace now, Elliott, hope it was a smooth

I really hate to be that asshole here but...These threads genuinely seem like attention seeking. I followed her last thread and the 'evidence' she posted looked absolutely nothing like what I've seen in SN poisoning. That plus the fact that she recovered so quickly from SN that she was capable of typing novel length posts merely an hour after her 'attempt'. Incredibly reminiscent of my time on 4chan and Reddit encountering LARPs for attention and validation.
Either way I hope she genuinely gets the help she needs and mods step in (which they seem to have). Crucify me if you like but we really REALLY don't need drama and divisiveness here, we're all suffering enough as it is. If I'm wrong I'll eat crow, it's just really suspicious.

I don't think you're being "that asshole" here at all, when people are clearly only here to be dramatic and manipulative in this way it needs to be publicly pointed out imo, this forum shouldn't be a place for that.

I agree we should be nice to each other and look out for each other, which is precisely why we shouldn't tolerate selfish people trying to manipulate us for their own little thrills.

How would mods know if he died. I don't think names should be crossed out by mods or even when the person deactivates their account. Mods wouldn't know if someone's passed away. Name crossing out causes too much speculation. It's not relevant. If someone's passed away they've passed away. No need for their name too be crossed out the same as deactivating their account doesn't need name crossing out.
i'm sorry michael . i'm sorry everyone: i don't care. fuck you akl. i'm so drunk. ooops. i had dreams but they're gone now. i don't wanna live. i don't wanna do anything. bye. sn time. oops
life is bullshit. all my life i've been sexually abused. i can never make good choices, no matter how hard i try. i give up. i love my family and friends, but bye. lol
this is no one's fault. i was gonna kill myself eventually. drinking SN now

Let's not judge others when we barely know them. People can be hurting but the behaviour manifestation may not reflect properly how they are feeling.
That said, as a fellow sufferer of the same condition (BPD, that is), I've received my fair share of judgement in real life too. Let's just try to avoid hurting those who may be hurting by judging them for how they handle their pain.

Broadly agree, would certainly not take issue with the sentiment, but I've seen N scams on here begin with, or be propelled by, a phoney goodbye thread so it's a fine line, and l think the goodwill of the forum is better expressed by protecting each other from phoneys than it is by supporting it. This doesn't mean one has to be mean or cynical, but when something is clearly *off* it does no harm to say so.

It's not a mod's job to know or care whether any particular person is alive after a goodbye thread. If the person states that they are still here (and very much alive) and a mod acknowledges it, I'm pretty sure the mod wouldn't ban the account.
A mod was here when the thread was posted (I personally saw them) so the mod carried out their duty per the forum rules.
No mysteries, nothing sinister, nothing new. End of story...
